Up first on the docket are the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets.
The Celtics are making an effort to propel themselves back into the playoffs, but they still need to improve areas of their team. Denver has the reigning DPOY and would like to move him before he breaks again and they aren't able to get value for him.
In Boston, Marcus Camby would pair well with Al Jefferson as on offense he doesn't hang out down low and his help defense could make up for some of Al's mistakes. It would also be a sexy move that could look good on paper.
Now what does Boston have that Denver would want? Obviously, Theo's expiring contract would be on the top of their list, but Denver also wants young talent back in any deal. Both Green and Rondo would have some appeal to the Nuggets.
So is there a deal that could be worked out that would be beneficial to both teams? Also rememeber, that Camby made several bonuses last season, so his cap number is going to be higher than what is listed at the trade machine sites. His cap number will likely be at least 10 million.

Up next on the docket are the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers
The Rockets made a draft pick that doesn't make any sense in Aaron Brooks, a smurfish combo guard, and previously traded for Mike James. Carly Landry is a nice player, but he isn't the answer to their PF position.
The Pacers need a PG as their dislike of Tinsely isn't a secret and they also need to improve the outside shooting on their team. After all, the Pacers are so desperate, they just signed Kareem Rush.
So the Rockets have extra scoring PG's and the Pacers have Ike Diogu, Troy Murphy and Jermaine O'Neal. Is there a big trade that can be worked out between these teams or will it just be the rumored small trade involving Ike Diogu?

Boston seems to not care about his age (didn't care about Allen's) and the fit is good.

So the Celtics are going to trust Bassy as their PG, if they deal Rondo? Don't think so. Green and Ratliff is a good base, but the Nuggets will probably want something else with size included. Maybe Perkins?

cpaw, are you sure that performance-based incentives ["not likely to be acheived..."] are included for trading purposes?
I think Ratliff and Green is enough for Camby. Obviously there is a great talent difference, but Denver needs to cut salary and Ratliff's contract is very valuable.

What they need is to keep the asset level on the team high. They want to trade Camby before his value drops. Getting some savings is nice, but not the highest priority. Green isn't enough talent for the Nuggets to make that deal and talent is what is going to drive the trading of Camby

Perkins doesn't do much for them

Denver's 25M over the cap and they're not winning the championship soon. When an owner can save thirty million dollars in one trade and his name isn't Mark Cuban, he usually goes for it.

QUOTE (Dre)

Once you lose your DPOY Center, it's gonna take more than 85 year old Ratliff to fill the void.

The Nuggets team defense was better when Camby was off the court.

No way, the Nuggets would have no explanation to their fans for getting AI one year, then taking a step back the next. The Nuggets might not win a title, but they sure seem set on trying, as getting AI pretty much confirmed. This would be an idiotic move.

The Nuggets are my co-favorite team and I follow them closely.
Camby won the award because he finally stayed healthy for a season and he had pretty stats in blocks and rebounds. He is a very good help defender, but his man defense is average at best and he is easily taken out of the play by good movement.
