It is kind of funny how it doesn't matter who the player is or what year it is, the Rangers just cannot finish in the playoffs. Sure, very good saves by Reimer, but come on now you have to finish these chances. Those are the types of things that cost you playoff games when the Canes bury their next chance.

As for Chytil, he is pretty simple to me. First he needs to get much stronger on the puck. That is the clear big must for him to take the next step. Second he needs to get a little smarter. From some of the things I have seen I am not sure his hockey IQ is very high right now. But he has very good upside if he can improve in those two areas. And as young as he is, I expect he will improve.

He absolutely does. First I think the team has more confidence with him in goal. They can see what we can see, Hank is not even close to the same. That doesn't inspire confidence. Second, and without a doubt most importantly, his puck handling skills are a huge help to this team. He has setup a few chances tonight, and he helps the dmen out big time.

You know this is going to end on some stupid thing like a flubbed clear or broken stick.

Carolina defenseman are unbelievable pussies. They get the puck in their zone and just clear it up the boards right away without even looking almost every time. It's a shame our forwards are too stupid to take advantage of it. That won't work vs. a veteran team.

I've said it many times. DeAngelo needs to be moved to wing. He fucking sucks defensively.

Different goalie. Same result. There was nothing different about this game than the other two. Nothing. The Rangers had no puck possession in the offensive zone and couldn't break out of their own end at all. They had no answer for the forecheck. Sloppy passing. Couldn't score on the few chances they had.

That 3rd period was kind of predictable as mentioned. When you have all the chances we had in the 2nd and don't cash in, that almost always comes back to bite you in the butt. Overall though, Carolina was simply the clearly better team. What can you do.

Now we need to hope our 12.5% lottery ticket pays off. If it doesn't we'll get a solid pick worst case. Hope Toronto and Carolina lose going forward to maximize our second 1st round pick.

Then we need to deal the second 1st rounder and a kid or two and add a legit # 2 C. Deal Strome for some return. Give Miller a shot to make the team paired with Trouba. Move on from Hank and Smith. And we need some more forward depth. We were woefully short upfront all season. I for one am excited for next season. We should be a legit solid playoff team. And in two years I expect a SC type team. Good times are ahead I think. In JD/Gorton I trust.

I disagree with this. In the first two periods they played about 500 times better than any of the 6 periods in games 1 & 2. They, as usual in the playoffs, could not finish. It was bound to bite them in the 3rd, and it did. The 3rd they were done, and it showed as it was all Carolina. Hopefully we learn some good lessons for the future.

4 goals in 3 games against a team missing half its defense is unacceptable. It starts and ends there.

Kakko will be good but i wonder a little about his ability to make plays on his own.

500 times better? Right. They played the exact same way in game 2 ( I didn't get to watch game 1) . They got their asses handed to them in the worst way. Couldn't control the game at any point, even strength, on the power play. They sucked. No one played well. They made stupid passes, gave away the puck constantly. Pathetic.

I don't. I think he is going to be a stud who will make his own plays, and make plays for other. With a North-South element to his game as well.

I saw the first two periods tonight very differently than you did I guess. The Rangers controlled long stretches of both of those periods. They never did that in games 1 & 2. At days end a loss is a loss, and that's all that matters, but in periods 1 & 2 tonight they were way better I thought.

    All good.

First two periods were definitely the best two they played all series. But as I said before allowing the Canes to go into the room tied after 1 was a huge win for them. We’ve seen this movie too many times. When you dominate a period like that you need to put goals on the board.

A frustrating end to a weird ass season. Hopefully these games got the kids got some good experience and gave the older guys who will be here next year a wake up call.

Howden and Chytil looked like idiots all series. Next year they better take a huge step up. If DeAngelo isn't moved to wing, they need to deal him.
