Would you rather have Kareem Abdul Jabbar or Hakeem Olajuwon?

If your building around a legendary center, who would you take?

Good question, I would probably take Hakeem because he was the overall better player but not by a lot.

tough call.Kareem of the 70's was an athletic force nearly unstoppable due to his perfected hook shot. The most unstoppable shot in the history of the game.his career averages are lower due to his 20 years of playing the game but look at his averages in the 70's they're on par with Shaq's numbers. Hakeem kept a high level of play longer though, especially his rebounding and IMO makes him the choice out of the two.but we're talking a close, you can't go wrong with either, pick.

His longevity is at least as good as Hakeem if not better. that and he won a title with two different teams. I couldnt pick between the two myself.

yeah but the last few titles were not due to him, rather it was Magic, Worthy, AC Green, Scott & Cooper that carried the load and Kareem still had his sky hook and could deliever in spurts but not consistently.Look at his rebounding numbers after age 31 vs Hakeem's. Hakeem never avg less than 10 rpg for any of his 18 seasons. Kareem avg under 10 for 8 of his 20. the all-star games were based on votes. AC Green was voted to start over Karl Malone one year for crying out loud.and I didn't say it was a big difference, but to choose 1, It would be Hakeem for me.both are legends and the #3 and #4 Centers of all time.

I want Hakeem, for his post defense and shotblocking mostly. Both are amazing low post scorers, obviously Kareem is better on offense, but I want Hakeem over Kareem.
