Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/471...e_to_milwaukee/ This is such a disaster. We are still flirting with Yi and trying to meet him in cities to talk with him, it's f*cking pathetic. How and the hell are we going to sign him if we can barely talk to him? Why on f*cking earth did we pick this guy....UGHHH.
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. The Chinese government are beggining to get on my nerves. Let Yi play in Milwaukee, that's who he was drafted by and that's where he should play. Yi's has seemed like China's slave since he refused to work out for the Bucks. Larry Harris should just give up and trade away his rights while he can. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"This is not -- as media reports have said -- because Milwaukee, as a city with very few Chinese people, is not good for Yi's commercial development," Chen said. "Rather we want to find a team suitable for Yi's growth. That's the root of the problem," he added</div> If this was true they would send him to the NBA in a second as the competition there is much tougher than in the CBA where Wang Zhi-Zhi can be succesful. The chinese government completely ruined the integrity of draft night.
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. Where's all the "HAHA Yi is going to Boston" trash you were talking BCB?
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. I know this would NEVER happen...but if it was my way, I would boot Yi forever outve the NBA and give Milwaukee the 6th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. Problem solved. Its going to be horrible looking for the Chinese if hes a bust....which is a high possibility.I still think GS is going to see if they can get him. Maybe a straight up swap if Brandan Wright would work....
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2939260<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>BEIJING -- The Milwaukee Bucks' campaign to secure the services of reluctant power forward Yi Jianlian has suffered a blow after the player's Chinese club said it would block his move to the United States.Yi, taken by Milwaukee with the sixth selection in the NBA draft last month, would "definitely not" play for Milwaukee, Tuesday's Beijing News quoted Guangdong Tigers chief, Chen Haitao, as saying."This is not -- as media reports have said -- because Milwaukee, as a city with very few Chinese people, is not good for Yi's commercial development," Chen said."Rather we want to find a team suitable for Yi's growth. That's the root of the problem," he added.</div>ahaha... BCB... Why would the Bucks risk putting themselves into this situation by picking Yi..
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. I still have a hard time understanding why the Bucks even picked Yi. I think they were wasted when they did it. They must have had some pre-draft party and had one or two too many drinks. Yi is the complete opposite of what the Bucks needed. With them being one of the best offensive teams in the NBA, and one of the worst defensive teams, you don't pick an offensive player. With Corey Brewer and Joakim Noah, two of the best defensive players in the NCAA last season, they could have had a gem. Plus, they knew this would happen. They knew Yi's agent and the Chinese government would interfere and say they want to play somewhere else.Stupid...
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. I completely agree KJ and Grizz, I did not understand why our franchise would take such a risk, it's Milwaukee, we can't afford to pick a player that won't sign, I don't care if he's the top player on the board, you don't pick a guy who doesn't want to play there....and even if he says he wants to, he has his Chinese influences making a huge impact on EVERYTHING he does....do you think after his three years are up, that he will resign? No. I believe Larry Harris should be fired, especially after this debacle.

Bobby Simmons is our starter, and Desmond Mason is now there to backup.

Bobby Simmons missed an entire season, so youve gotta think he'll be rusty, and it might even hurt him long term. Also, if they drafted Brewer, they wouldnt have signed Desmond Mason...
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. At this point, I think the Bucks should do all they can do. Trade his rights and a filler for Brandan Wright. Until Yi is singed to a contract, he can not be traded straight up for Wright. Wright may be raw at this point but it's clear that Yi will only to continue to cause more problems for the Milwaukee Bucks. Also, I agree with BCB, after last season's mess and the Yi pick, Larry Harris should be fired.

Also, if they drafted Brewer, they wouldnt have signed Desmond Mason...</div> Bobby Simmons and Desmond Mason aren't good players? Are you kidding me? Bobby Simmons missed a season, and will be a little rusty, but when he was healthy the year before he did well, when players miss a year, they usually pick up from where they left off....he will be fine....He can hit the three and use his size (6'6" 240) to be physical. Desmond Mason (6'7) is underrated and always played well in Milwaukee, glad to see a couple real SF's play this season compared to last year with Villanueva/Bell. I would rather have picked Noah to add depth at PF and sign Mason that add Brewer and have to look for a PF in FA.
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. whoa, Desmond Mason is barely 6-5, but he plays solid defense and is very athletic. He can only help the Bucks at the wing and you might as well see him start there. Looks like the Bucks will have to let go of Yi's rights?

Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. Mason and Simmons isn't bad at SF.. Two role players pretty much.. I think the Bucks needed to get a big man that could bang down low, rebound, block some shots, provide a burst of energy, and really be physical.. Joakim Noah wouldve been great.. Yi is a pussy forward, so he doesn't fill the need - and he's pretty much restricted to play for 80% of the teams, including the Bucks.. So I just don't get why the hell they would do this..
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. David Stern should say that if Yi doesn't play for the Bucks he should be banned from playing in the NBA.

Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. Guangdong Hongyuan? They want to,but they are fairly unable to.
Re: I'm now convinced Yi won't sign a contract. I'd pull the entire NBA market out of China. PWNZ0RED.I hate how the Chinese government is avoiding saying we want him to play in a Chinese city, they said he wouldn't play in Milwaukee, oh please. I wish Stern would make a political statement and completely cut ties with China.
