With a power forward group that includes Louis Amundson, rookie Jason Smith, Shavlik Randolph and Steven Hunter, the Philadelphia 76ers aren't exactly loaded at the position. So team president Billy King will try to make a trade. Since quality power forwards aren't in abundance, it won't be easy. Ya, that's what they needed to address in the draft. Hunter should be behind Dalembert. Then Smith should be off the bench as the second 4. I think Michael Sweetney would be a nice pickup. He is wide body with a soft touch and can score.

It's a shame because he could have been a serviceable big man in this league for a long time.
Looking at the Sixers situation, it's clear that they need a young PF with talent. Why not trade for Yi Jianlian's rights? The Bucks need to give him up because China refuses to let Yi play on the Bucks. Therefore, Yi's trade value goes down and he will be easier to acquire.I'm not sure if China want's Yi to play in Philadelphia either but it's better than Milwaukee. Yi will fit in well alongside Jason Smith as both play more of a perimiter game. The two can develop together.Yi will be the face of a currently faceless Philadelphia franchise. Marketing Yi and AI v2 together shouldn't be tough at all.

I kind of like Sweetney just because he's a Hoya, and I got into Georgetown basketball in his senior year (when he dominated), but if I were a GM I don't think I'd waste money on him. He'll always be out of shape. I don't the answer to Philly's low post scoring problem is going to be through free agency this year, especially not Sweets. They'll need to make a trade, like the article says.

The Sixers have some valuable pieces on their squad. In fact I would not be surprised if the Sixers moved Jason Smith and a young project like Louis Williams in the package for Yi. Despite it being potentially useful to have two similar rookies learn from each other, I would still be willing to give up Smith in a hearbeat if it meant Yi.Also, Yi's trade value has gone way done due to his situation forcing Milwaukee to trade him.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Carney was included in a potential deal.
Yi Jianlian get him Billy King that be the few smart things you did in your life as a Sixers gm.Trade anyone outside: Iggy, Young, Williams, and I would wanna keep Carney also.

I would give up Williams in a heartbeat if it meant a 19 year old with the talent Jianlian has.

Even though that might not happen.

I like the idea of philly giving up Andre Miller for Yi.Think about it, bucks get a pass first vetren pg they've been looking forand Philly can build around a young core of Yi Iguodala and Louis Williams.I like it both ways.
