One shouldn't judge too much from summer league, but while Boston Celtics' forward Gerald Green did look better in practice, there's no getting around his 29.8 percent shooting (17-of-57) from the field in five games. With Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and, the Celtics hope, a healthy Tony Allen ahead of him, Green's name has been raised in a number of trade discussions this offseason. That probably won't change after his work in Las Vegas Link---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's more likely that other teams are using his poor play in SL to try to get him at a discount price.

Greg Dickerson on FSN the other day said that he talked to a lot of league executives (yes, it's true, because he was down in Vegas) and that they don't think very highly of Green at all. He said his value is at an all-time low.

I think teams could still give alot for Green because of his potential.. SL stats/performances don't mean THAT much..I'd like to see the C's shop around Theo/Green and whoever else for a good vet..

A few summer league games?I honestly think it was just a few bad games from Gerald and it's not going to be a trend. I don't have actual evidence of this but I honestly believe he has been working his ass off in other areas (defense, rebounding, etc), and he just has no rhythm with his shot at the current moment. I can see why people would put a lot of stock into this, but I don't think this should decrease his trade value all that much.

so, is this pretty much speculation? I doubt he's on the "block". I wouldn't mind seeing theo/green go for a nice veteran C or PF.

We might as well keep him. He still has potential even if he's struggling right now. No use in trading him away for nothing.
