A couple decades ago I had to apply for unemployment. I was turned down. I took it to an unemployment arbiter and they ruled in my favor resulting in about ten unemployment checks bingo. I was pissed and took the bull by the horns and won. Did you try appealing?

Well, I think you're right about it being French.
I think one was used in the movie, Marathon Man, starring Dustin Hoffman and Roy Scheider.

That's interesting. I haven't turned my heat on the last several nights either.
I dearly wish I could help you, I especially feel sorry for your kids because I've also been there. We once depended on my mother taking in wash which she also had to iron. My mother had divorced your father.
All I can offer is some food. My wife only eats Korean food. This means I'm the only one eating Western food and I don't eat that much. We have a Costco apple pie of which I have eaten one slice and I'll probably eat two more slices and we'll throw away more than half a pie. We looked in our pantry for some boxed food. We found a Rice-A-Rony and a noodles Romanoff both of which were long expired. My wife has frozen meat that we'll never get to. We're always throwing away expired food. It drives me nuts but my wife loves to throw stuff away. Your wife and kids would probably rather die than eat donated food.
Maybe some people in here have some tips on saving money. Here's a tip, if you have a Costco card buy your gas there. It's probably cheaper than anywhere else plus you get 3% back.
We could take you with us to Ft. Lewis where you could buy what you need with no state or federal tax. My wife and I both have retired military ID cards allowing each of us to take one guest. The have a commissary that sells food, a lot of which is not really a deal but some of which is a real good deal. They also have a PX which sells stuff that isn't food except for the liquor. The PX has a lot of good deals including the liquor. They have a cheap gas station but you could ride with us and save the wear and tear on your car and wouldn't spend a nickel on gas.
Okay, there's my good dead so it's time for other's to belly up to the bar so to speak. Let's find ways to help this guy out.

I am not going through this but I feel very very sorry for every one of you. My mother and little brother and I went through this when I was young. It breaks my heart to see others go through this.
