Not to mention the D Trent played, especially against Doncic. Doncic was just giving the ball up sometimes when he had Trent on him.
Huh. I hadn't really thought of that. Ant has started 5 games in his career, and in those starts averages 16ppg, .543TS5, and nearly 4 assists. It probably goes without saying this is significantly better than his bench production. If we do rest CJ, I'd rather get Starter Ant over Bench Ant. Maybe he should get the Noah Vonleh treatment. We can always adjust at half time. I don't think Trent will see it as a big deal, as long as he's there at the finish line.
Here’s an article from when Cam Newton had a similar injury. Sounds encouraging for a relatively quick recovery: https://www.google.com/amp/s/heavy....ton-panthers-spine-back-injury-car-crash/amp/
I was curious: obvious sample size issues, and of course this doesn't include his one shining-light game from last season what stands out to me isn't that he's actually worse as a starter, but how bad he has been overall. Trent is only 5 months older than Simons
really? here is Portland current guard roster: CJ McCollum Anfernee Simons Damian Lillard Gary Trent Jr. that's it...there's nobody else and Simons sucks. And Trent plays a lot of SF, in part because Ariza is not playing. And the SF alternatives are Hezonja, Little, & Hoard yeah. this is a Stotts problem, but Olshey created it
