    It wasn't when he retired if I remember correctly. I think he wanted to be in the running for team president when they were looking for replacements for Larry Miller and he was basically not even given the time of day. That may have come from a Quick article but I can't find it so take it with a grain of salt but it is what I think happened.

    I didn't know he had considered himself an option to be our head coach. Yikes.

    I don't even remember him being an assistant coach for the Nuggets right after this. Another article gave me that information.

    I think Scottie also wanted to be considered for a coaching position by Portland. Seemed fair, he basically functioned as a coach on the floor when he played for the Blazers.
