So we are down to rolling blackouts in LA now. Lots of quakes too. Anyone use a portable solar generator? Are they any good? This setup by Jackery will cost around $500. There are some $50 ones, but probably pretty shitty.
The rolling blackouts are just going to be for an hour or two for any given household, for selected areas, til the 20th. You're gonna be fine, lil' buddy.
Buy a couple deep cycle marine batteries......charge them in your car and take them in the house during a blackout have one charging in the car and one in the house running 12 volt shit...they'll run 12 volt lights and a 12 volt tv or computer or radio...etc...your car is a generator and you might as well get more power for your gasoline...simple fix I've used camping many times
Using a car generator uses more gasoline. Driving with your windows down to avoid using the air conditioner also uses more gasoline.
You easily have more disposable income than anybody I know. Vegas, solar panels, lame ass expensive shoes and god damn ninja swords! When do you have time to work, all you do is shop!
no kids + rent control + no car payment. And I've only gone to Vegas once this year, and it was on sale b/c of the pandemic! EDIT: Twice. Its a quick drive from LA. YOU TOO CAN BUY A NINJA SWORD, SON. LET ME TEACH YOU THE WAY.
Leaving the RG after the game Saturday and a guy was crossing the street.....he had a backpack on with a mother fuckin’ ninja sword on his back heading over the Broadway bridge. I was like WHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTT!?!?!??!?!
I mean, if you own a house, you should have some kind of generator, whether it be portable or a larger one for the entire home. I just don't have the room for one. Some water reserves. Some food reserves. Etc.
