This isn't meant to be an insult but you're talking out your ass. You have no fucking clue what the whole story is or if we will bring Ariza back. If you do have some true insider info please make me look like a fool and share it, if not you shouldn't make guesses about people that are so negative and insulting. Ariza played really well for us this year and I would be cool if we bring him back next year unless we have some moves to make that would upgrade that position.
Bold and cruel statement to guess and post that Ariza is an irresponsible dad. It tells more about you, that you would make such an assumption. Ariza cannot rejoin the team per the NBA rules as he opted out, same as Avery Bradley and others.
what do you know? He opted out! He used his child custody matter as an excuse. He could have opted IN and asked the team for a month long absence because of his situation...but no, he opted OUT completely! We don’t need him. Bye bye Ariza. bump this post in a few months from now when his ass is traded before he puts on the black and scarlet
I was responding to the following crap “Melo's like Enes Kanter: a flawed guy who's playing great in a playoff run, but you can do better.” By Rastapoopulous saying Melo is a flawed guy.... give me a break. melo over loser-Ariza any day
This assumption is an incredible jump from what you know to what you imagine. It should honestly embarrass you as a human being and especially as a father. Imagine if someone accused you of using time with your child (who you only have partial custody of) as an excuse to get out of work. Now imagine that you've spent the last 15 years of your life proving that you are and being recognized as a consummate professional only to have people question your work ethic. What part of how he played for the Blazers this year showed a lack of professionalism or work ethic because from where I was watching he looked to be one of the hardest workers on the team. This is worse than some take that Skip Bayless would sputter out of his worthless mouth and you are operating with even less context than that fool.
he was given a month, right? BUT he chose to opt out completely! To each his own, but good riddance. And the point of this thread was “Melo versus Ariza” - and I’ll take the guy that WANTS to play - and I was responding to another post whereby the poster was equating Melo to Cantor.... but you go on with your bad self rook
Ariza in his short time with Portland was averaging 11/4.8/5 while shooting 49%FG and 40%3pt while guarding the best player. I've seen many times that people say that he's old (34 years) but he's still a good defender with good length and can hit the 3. Neil better take the option if he doesn't have a 3nD player who replace him. Ariza is exactly the type of player we miss in the Playoffs. I also think Hood will have a good Comeback, he doesn't relly on athleticism, he still knows how to shoot the basketball and he's a solid defender at 6.8 We're missing 3 forwards we desperately could need now, but it is what it is. My plan for next season if i was Neil: Let Whiteside go if he doesn't accept less salary, same for Melo if he doesn't accept the minimum. If both are gone, use the pick to trade for a player who can create offense, use the MLE for a Backup Center, someone like Aaron Baynes
As I understand it, Ariza had a choice. He could have taken leave from the bubble, as other players have, or he could "opt out" and abandon the team for the rest of the season. His choice speaks volumes. He COULD help the team, but he doesn't want to be here. Why would anybody want him back?
