I expect a similar statement out of Sebastian Telfair in the future.

Why does everyone hate marbury? hes a hell of a basketball talent and no more egotistical then kobe bryant. IF Marbury goes to italy, he will be the michael jordan of basketball over there.

Damn, I wonder what Knicks fans think about this. I don't think he'll be that great over in the Italian League; it's probably the most competitive in all of Europe. And, he'll be 32 when his contract is done so I don't know...

Stephon Marbury really hasn't done much for the Knicks the past couple of season. By no means did Marbury, despite being a quality player at the time of recieving the contract, did Marbury live up to what New York expected of him. After 2 quality seasons when he got the contract, Steve Francis along with tons of other overpayed guards came into New York.

Despite his playing time not dropping, his overall play suffered when he couldn't mesh well with all the Knicks guards and missed 22 games in 05-06. Since then his game hasn't come close to reaching where it was in PHX. Now, he is a waste of his maximum contract.

This should be good news for the Knicks in a way. They can use the 20 million to sign a quality point guard along with other valuable assets to their squad.

Marbury has been acting really weird this offseason, especially in his interviews. He has started to state "Basketball is just a game, theres more to life than basketball" in all his interviews. I guess this explains it. He seems like he's enjoying life for once.

I bet it doesn't happen. If it does, I'll be relieved. Maybe he can be a star over there!

    1) Stop calling him Starbury... he's far from that.2) People hate on him because although he has helped every team he has been on, it only happens AFTER he leaves them.3) He has the talent... just doesn't know how to successfully utilize it.

Agreed, he has also started to say that he doesn't want to win a championship. He "wins for winning" according to him.

It's just a nickname. Same with Stevie Franchise, Francis has become known as a cancer by many NBA analysts and fans. He's by no means a franchise player. Even when Francis was on the Rockets, Yao Ming was the franchise player. That nickname is much worse than 'Starbury'.

God this sucks I really like this guy but people hate on him for his attitude. I was hoping the Knicks would give him the MLE or something when he expires.
