Probably not liking that return on investment either.

I think Jodi is going to treat this more and more like a business than Paul did. Same reason we gave Skal away at the deadline.

I certainly asked the same question. Pretty sure it was one of the very few three pointers he got a chance to take.

It's great because we settle for those midrange shots. You need to get an open 3, a shot at the rim, or a foul.

If you aren't going to attack and at least draw fouls, you might as well just hold up the white flag. And let's be honest, we attacked the rim in those situations maybe 50% of the time, and that's not going to cut it.

I agree. And often Nurk and Whiteside flip crap up when they do take it at the Lakers size. So we're not discouraging them from forcing that 2:1 action.

no way - being out hustled period.

tonight was a very bad loss - because we could have actually won with more intensity and hustle. Trent was really the only Blazer that hustled. Melo played with intensity. Can’t give much credit to any of the others - including a coach that doesn’t coach

Now that i have been chastised for not being a "Real Fan" i will say at least they put out some better effort in game 3.
The end result didn't change much but they did at least stay in the game. Problem is i think they lost this game during game 2. They are second guessing everything and obviously Lillard is not the same player.
I see a lack of synchronicity they were playing with before this series started. It ain't gonna come back without Dame being Damian Lillard. They have him down right now. It's obvious they are pushing him right which forces him to use the left hand to dribble or pass through the trap. Nurk is getting the ball slower and the defense can react easier.

Blazers need to use Dame as a shooting guard or off ball shooter more and also get Trent the ball on the arc. The lakers are also fronting Whiteside. They are leaving him WIDE open for the lob. If any coach is watching the film from this game they must be able to see this? A nice 6-8 points off lobs would change the entire look of the game.

What bodies could have been added? Players like Mario and JR Smith and Waiters are on rosters - how bad are people who AREN'T on rosters?!

Be irritated. That is okay after a loss like that.
Now i understand the alternate universe a little bit but fact remains. they have them now. Two of those players were actually able to play but are not available any longer. The statement was about the bench. It would be better if they had their actual bench players here.

I will disagree about Talent. Lakers are frequently rolling out 3 very limited players around AD and Lebron. Dwight is a shell of what he was. Carusso is a solid defender but is not really a threat offensively yet we kept over helping to leave Anthony Davis wide open. Every shot Carusso takes is a win for us. Just like everytime Mario touches the ball is a win for them. KCP is a spot shooter and nothing else offensively. Green is an inconsistent jump shooter who if he takes a step inside the 3 pt line it is great for us. Yes AD and Lebron are all world but we lost this game because we were outexecuted the entire second half.

In the second half AD and Lebron were getting whatever they wanted. Obviously Lebron heating up from 3 was a factor, but while they are getting wide open mid range jumpers or layups, we were forcing tough contested jump shots. The quality of shot we got in the second half as opposed to the Lakers is why we lost this game. The fact that we continue to not box out and yield extra possessions certainly has not helped our cause.

Neil after we lose the series:

"Look, we weren't going to win anyway. We were an 8th seed against the best team in the west. We were without three of our best guys in Collins, Hood, and Ariza. We were without Little. We went 6-2 in the restart and made the playoffs. And fans are crying about why we didn't add players. We added Adams. We tried to add other substitute players. We tried to add Green. We tried to add other players, but they chose other teams. We didn't add a player to the last roster spot because we are trying to cut costs. It is what it is. We will run it back next year and go at it healthy.

We had tangible gain. Young guys like Anfernee Simons and Wenyen Gabriel got playoff experience. We built great chemistry. We fell short it's no surprise. We are very happy with where we are. Terry did a great job. He got us to the WCF last year. We were just in the WCF. We suffered a substantive amount of injuries this season. We were lucky to make it as far as we did. We were lucky to be included in the restart. We will come back next year and do it again. Nothing has changed. The plan is still the same. It hasn't changed."

But he is not even moving on offense. He stands there wide open while Melo forces shot after shot.
Now don't get me wrong. Melo made some of those shots and they were at crucial times. But an open look from three from Trent in my book is a better shot than a contested mid range from Melo.
In my opinion Melo could really help this team if he passed out of the post more.
