My distance has been a little off for about 5 years now. I can drive just fine during the day. Night I need glasses. My reading just recently got a little week. I think my prescription is a +1. I can read without them. Where the problem was driving with my distance glasses on, it made the nav or my phone hard to read with the distance glasses on. So.... I guess a progressive will fix it. Also I got all the bells and whistles, blue blockers, transition, true coat, all the stuff.
I will go get my site checked after the COVID stuff hopefully someday slows down. My job is literally in front of monitors all day the eye strain isnt good...
Psychedelics add much more insight than just to the sense of sight. You actually directly observe your own levels of consciousness coordinating your surprisingly complicated body movements. Like a factory, the mind has a lazy complacent ruling class (the conscious level), and a technocrat class making almost all decisions (the nimble expert subconscious levels). It's a facinating trip if you're highly intelligent. If your life is an ego trip, then watching how the other half lives is a forgettable, "Wow, that blows my mind!"
To get an eye exam it's $95 at Costco. At Stanton Optical it's $99 but you also get 2 pairs of plain basic progressives. So I went with Stanton and took the prescription to Costco. Never been to Stanton before. That was insane. All new state of the art equipment. All roboticized. The doctor was in California, lol. The entire appointment was done via telemedicine with the equipment and machines being operated via remote. I was like oh fuck at first but then I liked it. No people in the room, the lady came and disinfected and wiped down everything when I was done. Seemed very safe. So I ended up with 2 pairs of cheap glasses and two pairs of everything glasses for the price of 2 pairs.
Since no one asked what the trucoat was... just a joke I make when I get all the options on something.
I remember getting my last pair of glasses, and putting them on and realizing just how shitty my eye sight had gotten between prescriptions. I guess waiting a decade probably wasn't the smartest thing to do...
I used to have to carry two different sets of glasses ...one for reading small print like CD jewel cases or paperback books...the other just very light glasses for normal use....the VA got me bifocals which I love...took awhile to get used to but now I love the things..I never needed glasses until I did midi computer editing for a decade in my 40s with big analog monitors a foot from my face...before the flat screens were around
I did the progressives when I got my first pair of bifocals. Never liked them so I went old school for years. The best thing that has happened for my vision was cataract surgery. Now all I need is a cheap pair of cheaters.
