Let's take a look at the current team, and the 04 team.Current-BillupsHamiltonPrinceMaxiellWallaceMcDyessStuckeyAfflaloAmirNazrHunterFlipSambO4-BillupsHamiltonPrinceWallaceWallaceMike JamesHunterOkurCorlissSoupHamDarkoFowlkesWe're deeper than last year, but not as deep as the 04 team.James, Okur, Hunter, and Corliss off of the bench is almost impossible to beat. However, we don't know if Joe has another move up his sleeve. We could grab a guy like Pietrus to solidify our bench even more. The starters are a wash. Maxiell is a downgrade from Ben, but Prince, Rip, and Billups are much better than in 04. The only weaknesses I see is our coach and our hunger. Things that are out of Joe's control. If the showing last playoffs, and if these young guys can provide the fuel this team needs, I see a run just like 04.
You can compare names, but we haven't had the desire or character in the lockerroom needed to win a title since the night we won the title. Whether the talent is there or not is irrelevant, we don't have the right guys.
Agree. It ain't about the names anymore. It's about Larry Brown being 100X better for this team then pussy saunders, and not being able to keep the team in check, not being able to make these guys hungry, or play together, or be the family they used to be.It all falls back to that. Firing Larry Brown..regardless of what he was doing behind the scenes is the worst move the franchise has made since drafting Darko.

It's obvious that the Pistons need a player like Ben Wallace, someone to doesn't fool around in games or practice, and leads by example, not to mention his insane post defense. We aren't done yet though. Nazr, Flip, and/or Hunter could all be moved.
