Never heard of her, so I looked her up. Former wife of the current California governor.

I watched maybe 1/2 hour of the dem convention and 10 mins of the repub convention. Didnt leave me feeling optimistic about any form of unity, unless you sell your soul to one side or the other. Kind of gives me the same feeling I have about church denominations where each one thinks they are the bride and any others are frauds.

What I saw of the convention was hilariously terrible.....the screaming Harpy that is porking Don Jr was worth a laugh.....Herschel Walker sounded like a concussion victim....Don Jr looked coked out of his mind ...all in all.....poorly put together and terribly unconvincing....dump Trump ...simple..he's not worth one firecracker

I wouldn't pretend to know the answer to this but, Puerto Rico is unincorporated territory, do people living in Puerto Rico consider themselves part of the United States? There are some similarities (though also some differences) to China's relationship with Hong Kong.
I did some google searches and found this. Which I thought was interesting.

Not sure, but I swore they can serve in the army, vote and don’t need a passport. I might be wrong.

Puerto Ricans have been citizens of the United States since 1917...the are not a state although they have voted to become a state several times...they are considered a US territory....Hong Kong was British and leased by England for a century ...when the lease ran out, China took them back....these are not similar situations..we never leased Puerto Rico...they don't need visas to travel back and forth as citizens

I believe that's entirely correct. They are definitely considered by the United States as US citizens, I think there is somewhat of a complicated relationship there though.

Puerto Ricans have been citizens of the United States since 1917, and can move freely between the island and the mainland.[25] As it is not a state, Puerto Rico does not have a vote in the U.S. Congress, which governs the territory with full jurisdiction under the Puerto Rico Federal Relations Act of 1950. Puerto Rico's sole congressional representation is through one non-voting member of the House called a Resident Commissioner. As residents of a U.S. territory, American citizens in Puerto Rico are disenfranchised at the national level, do not vote for the president or vice president of the U.S.,[26] and in most cases do not pay federal income tax.[27][28][Note 1] Congress approved a local constitution in 1952, allowing U.S. citizens of the territory to elect a governor.

I know that, and I said as much. It does not mean that Puerto Rico gets the benefits of being a state though. There's a lot of reading material on Puerto Rico.

They are not a state....that's not the point....they are US citizens though which is my point and have been for over 100 years...just no vote...and all that status can be changed in one election...they could become a state with a vote
