Slightly similar, but no, not really. CP is one of the all-time great floor generals. People around him significantly up their play, more often than not. Dame is on the short list of best shooters ever, with leadership to match. But floor general-ship is by far the weakest element of his game. The team doesn't really drop off when he misses time (look at how much faster everyone played in game 5 against the Lakers with Dame out due to the knee), because they play down to his pace instead of him lifting them up.

Might that be because he has been playing with CJ who is completely redundant and is a net negative defender when Dame is pretty much a neutral defender. What I mean to say is that Olshey hasn't put complementary pieces around Dame that maximize his efficacy as a floor general. Players that don't take the open shots he gets them, don't make the open shots he gets them or fumble away passes down low that would be gimmes, don't exactly maximize the perception of Dame's game and that's all your anecdotal comments about being a "floor general" are. I'm not saying that Dame is a better facilitator than CP3 I'm just saying that characterizing facilitating offense for others as a weakness is inaccurate. Also pace of play would again be your perceived idea of what makes someone a good floor general.
