<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"His competitive juices are really flowing, and that's indicative of where he is," said Colangelo, who said Bryant told him he had dropped 19 pounds since the NBA season ended while getting in shape for his first summer with the national team.</div>http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/col...%26id%3d2942739Wow. Kobe must be pretty motivated.
When he doesn't have offseaosn surgery or problems (like the rape case) he always really improves and gets in amazing shape for the upcoming season. He did this same kind of thing for the 2005-2006 season, and of course we know how that went. His work ethic always leaves me in awe. Too bad T-Mac doesn't have half his work ethic...
It's for the better. He came into the 05-06 season at 214, he should gain about 7-8 pounds extra. His defense will be much jumper and his lateral quickness will be much improved.Less weight+ a whole offseason of working on d= DPOTY
By the way, kobe's weight count on nba.com and espn are outdated. Kobe was 230 last seasons (acording to him) which means he is now 211. I think he wants to get back to the size he was in 05-06.

Yeah Kobe looked bigger than usual this past season, no homo. The videos of interviews and things I've seen him in, he is noticablly(sp?) thinner.
I just hope he can kick some ass on team USA. Show those greaseball F*ck-sticks who's really the boss in the basketball world.

Too bad T-Mac doesn't have half his work ethic...</div> I remember a T-Mac interview on ESPN 4 or so years ago at T-Mac's house, and McGrady said that his trainer had a key to his house so the trainer could wake him up...and kind of made a joke about how lazy he is. I was like, WTF? :no1:
I'm just hoping that Team USA won't choke this year. I think the addition of Kobe should put them over the top.Not that having a lineup that includes Lebron, Carmelo, Bosh and Howard isn't nice.
Team USA's failures don't have to do with Talent, it's that they haven't played together enough. You have to have an absurd talent gap between you and the opponents to win when they've been playing together for years and you've been playing together for a couple of months each year.
