The addition of free agent Steve Francis likely will trigger more changes for the Houston Rockets, who now have five point guards. General Manager Daryl Morey has said he is seeking to move John Lucas III, and he could also look to deal Rafer Alston. Several teams, the New Orleans Hornets in particular, have indicated interest in Lucas, but Morey said nothing is imminent.Link
He also said that Francis was a longshot 3-4 days ago....Rafer and Lucas need to be traded. Rockets still need a reliable, rebounding/shotblocking PF next to Yao who can actually help out on the offensive end. They should really push hard on a deal for Haslem or Camby, although I highly doubt either will be traded to the Rockets without getting at least Nattier in return. The trade that makes more sense for Rockets and the other team is Miami, who really needs a PG and shooters. Maybe Rafer,Head, expiring contract (if they need it) and a future draft pick. But as I said, doubt it unless Battier is involved.
The acquisition of point guard Steve Francis could lead to other moves for the Houston Rockets. General manager Daryl Morey has said he would look to move point guard John Lucas III, and has spoken with several teams, including the New Orleans Hornets. Morey said he would not necessarily move other point guards, but the Miami Heat have expressed interest in Rafer Alston, with forward Udonis Haslem and center Michael Doleac among the names discussed who could be included in a trade.LinkIf they could send Alston to the Heat in a package that didn't include Batter and get Haslem in return, that would be ideal for the Rockets. What big man could the Hornets trade them though? I'm sure they don't want to deal West or Chandler.
