The Phoenix Suns will look to add a replacement for forward Kurt Thomas through what is a lean free agent class when it comes to big men. The head of the list is Chicago Bulls veteran P.J. Brown, although there are indications that the 38-year-old is leaning heavily toward retirement. Brown's agent, Mark Bartelstein, is also the agent for Suns' GM Steve Kerr, and there is a feeling that if Brown decides to play, Phoenix affords the ideal situation. LinkBrown would be a great signing for the Suns. He adds a defensive element in the front-court and would bring some good veteran leadership.

I understand the reasoning behind the Kurt Thomas trade, but it was still bizarre to see a team trade 2 future first round picks and a player for a second. PJ Brown would be a nice addition to Phoenix. If he decides to play it'll be with the Suns.

PJ Brown is a must if we want any chance to beat the Spurs next season. I doubt he comes here though because it looks like he's leaning towards a team in Florida or retirement and even with the money they saved, I don't see the Suns offering too much. If we can get him though he would be great to have. He'll give us what KT did, slightly better in some areas and slightly worse in others. Also, even though he's older, he's been less injury prone.

I didnt like the Thomas trade at all. He's clearly one of the underrated nba players IMO and they let him go for basically nothing.

It was a salary cap move, and that trade exception could come in handy, especially at the deadline.

They could come up with something good with that trade exception.
