* " Olivia Troye, a former top staffer for Vice President Mike Pence, who helped coordinate the White House’s coronavirus task force meetings and resigned in August, said that at one daily White House meeting in late spring, Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and special adviser, encouraged her to sit next to him, not behind him. When she responded that the group was trying to social distance, he said, “I don’t give a shit about that.” As Troye recalled, “He was very dismissive about it.” *********************** * " President Trump has pushed phony cures from the White House podium. His aides have forced the nation’s premier public health agency to downgrade the risks of COVID-19 in public guidances. Trump has claimed that the development of a vaccine could move at the pace best suited to his reelection. He has elevated a neuroradiologist, and frequent Fox News guest, who has spewed false and dangerous theories about herd immunity. And he has repeatedly risked the lives of his own supporters at crowded rallies, all to create the impression that he had dominated the virus. Above all, he has repeatedly mocked mask-wearing. As recently as Tuesday night from the presidential-debate stage at the Cleveland Clinic—as his own children looked on from the audience, maskless, in violation of the event’s own rules—he said derisively of his rival, Vice President Joe Biden, “Every time you see him, he’s got a mask.” ************************* * " And yet, as careless as those inside the White House have been toward their own safety and that of the people they’ve encountered, they’ve also enjoyed access to care that the vast majority of Americans can only dream of. Even as President Trump has demanded that the nation’s children return to school, and that governors reopen states despite climbing COVID-19 rates around the country, the White House has had the benefit of a rigorous daily testing regimen. Since May, the president—and everyone in regular contact with him—has gotten tested daily for COVID-19. In the end, President Trump’s contempt for science, echoed by his family and closest aides, turned Air Force One into a petri dish for SARS-CoV-2, and led to his dramatic tweet at 12:54 this morning, just a month before Election Day: “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” But being “together” is exactly the problem." https://www.vanityfair.com/news/202...cavalier-disregard-created-a-covid-petri-dish
A Confederacy of Dunces is an apt name for this administration. It ties nicely into their racist loving nature while summarizing their ability to observe the evidence and process it appropriately.
"We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here, we will not see terrorism, and isn't that refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of Barack Obama?" -Kayleigh McEnany
Steven Miller’s Grandmother caught COVID in March. She was hospitalized in April. And put on a ventilator in May. She passed away in the beginning of July. Her death certificate said she had died of COVID. Her doctor was interviewed by the press and said she had died of COVID. Her son said she had died of COVID. Kayleigh McEnany said she had not died of COVID and that it was “disgusting that the Democrats were trying to score political points” that “she had died peaceful in her sleep from old age.”
