I think it was pretty much equal. I give credit to the moderator as she set the tone from the beginning and she did not stop throughout. Debates have done this forever. The time limit is always reached. These two both went over. But the moderator handled them. To compare Chris Wallace had no chance.
It's on TV and TV wants to run ads i guess? Personally 90 mins is about all i can take but if it's a good debate i probably could do more.
This might be why people see debates differently? My bet is @EL PRESIDENTE isn't drinking Vodka or Rum? Maybe Tequila? Maybe @VanillaGorilla is a beer guy? Me i was drinking Earl Grey Tea.
If there wasn't a Virus there would not have been a plexiglass divider. If there was no divider Harris could have reached over and swatted the fly. I hate this Virus.
...and oh, btw, according to a reliable source, that the fly on Pence's head, has been identified as a "shit-eating fly".
. . Trump has just said he will not participate in next week's debate. Imagine that, he won't participate in a debate he cannot control...what a surprise. https://www.npr.org/2020/10/08/921538492/second-presidential-debate-to-be-virtual-commission-says "President Trump said Thursday he's "not going to do a virtual debate" after the independent commission that runs the debates announced that the second presidential debate, which had been scheduled for Oct. 15 in Miami, will now be virtual. Trump told Fox Business that the change in the debate style was "not acceptable to us." "I'm not going to do a virtual debate," he said, calling the format "a waste of time.""
why is it BS? unless you've been living under a rock the past 7 months, everything people are doing these days has gone virtual. I've taken like 5 interviews over webex/zoom, given and attended multiple seminars, every meeting for work, even saw my cousin's wedding and bday parties on zoom. My group has biweekly happy hours on video call. It's more reasonable to do this debate on a virtual stage than have this asshole spread his shit to hundreds of more people along the way. And fwiw, virtual debates are nothing new. This is 60!!! years ago.
They did virtual debates 50 years ago. And again, the only reason Trump does not want to do it is because he knows he cannot control it.
lol wut. how do you cheat at a debate? someone giving them the answers??? lmao. what is this, an oral exam about where THEY stand on the issues? you're just not using common sense now.
Last night’s debate was an hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back. Pence is nothing more than a more polished, low key bully and bullshitter than Trump. That said, he had Harris on her heels most of the night trying to defend herself and calling him out on his lies and fairy tales, rather than sticking to the questions asked. I wish (especially when Pence dodged the question about preexisting conditions and Trump’s health care plan) Harris would have immediately called Pence out for not answering that question, rather than bob, weave and dodge the question on Supreme Court packing that had absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. I think Harris would have been far more effective wrestling the conversation back to the moderator’s questions rather than getting into a pissing match (on stupid shit we have heard ad nauseum) that deflects from the literal purpose of a “debate”. We (both sides) learned absolutely nothing last night but what we didn’t already know. My two takeaways from the night were that; 1. Mike Pence in particular and the Republican Party in general have no use for strong, assertive women (or the truth for that matter). And 2. If reelected, Trump really and truly has no other plan than to stumble through “business as usual”, expecting the Republican Party to clean up his messes behind him using the Supreme Court (Along with Bill Barr) as his own personal concierge service. Sorta like the pooper scoopers who clean up behind the horses after a parade.........I’d have gotten more depth out of a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie........
