I think I see what you're saying. You're saying we're (as a society) turning it into a preference, and not a mental illness? I get what you mean now. It seemed like you were saying something different. All is good.
Yeah, I was struggling to put into words what I was thinking. The main problem I have with it is that I'm sure pedophiles are terrified to let people know how they really feel. So how can they receive treatment if they're terrified of being labeled? So until society truly accepts that it's not a choice and needs treatment, we won't see any progress for people with that condition. Also, I think the reason why this topic riles me up is because the fear of pedophiles have affected all men because any adult male who takes an interest in kids is branded a pedophile. Even 20 years ago when I was 20 I got weird looks when I wanted to help out in a children's theater group that I was in as a kid.
Funny, not funny....... we were at my daughters soccer practice awhile ago. Her club will practice at the same time regardless of age. U14s on one side, U15s on the other and so on. This dad next to me couldn't figure out the age group of the other girls across the way training. SOOOO, when they came jogging by, I asked one of them how old they were, not thinking really that that was a bad question. This mom next to me, looked up, gave me a dirty look and stormed off to talk to some coaches huddled about 20 yards away! HAAAA! She snitched me out to them that I was some pedophile researching my next victim basically. I was actually cracking up when a couple of the coaches who didn't know me came over and confronted me. I couldn't help but laugh! Now when I walk up to the seats with the other dads from my daughters team, I get the whole,"It rubs the lotion on it's skin!" routine. Funny, not funny.......
This is exactly what I'm talking about though. This idea that all men are predators with no reason to talk to children, and more specifically girls.
Have you watched “The Social Dilemma” on Netflix? No wonder the world is getting progressively more wackadoo.
Yep. I lived that with my teenage daughter (now 18). Bru-tal. I thought I was doing enough. I wasn't. Her younger siblings have a few more restrictions.
I have a really conservative pal and today he told me that some of his ilk apparently think Michelle Obama is transgender, but he "doesn't put a lot of credence in it". WTF? A lot? How about any? I feel like I'm on Seinfeld !
ABM thinks the same about Kamala Harris. http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/tu...ump-2020-election.355559/page-59#post-5024574
Well it makes sense if you think about it. No way a black woman could be that smart, or educated. I mean, she's supposed to be a maid. The only way it's possible is if she was originally with meat and two vegs.
I was confused by your first post too, and actually thought you meant the opposite of this. But I agree with you 100%. The few times I've tried to express that opinion I've had people come back at me saying I must be a pedophile myself.
Pedophilia harms people and that's the difference. This is also why, when you're in my space, you'd best be wearing a mask over nose as well as mouth and you'd better not let me smell your cigarette smoke.
This whole new outrage over sexual crimes is a conservative think-tank strategy. It's similar to refocusing the gun discussion on mental health so they don't really have to address either problem. It started to surface during the protests, as a way for people who were critical of the protests to take the moral ground on a worthy issue. It also gives the anti BLM people something to be very loud about to compete with BLM outrage. Even Trump got in on it and donated a bunch of money and passed a few meaningless laws, which helps feed the story. Don't get me wrong, sex trafficking and pedophilia are both terrible but truth is they have both been on the decline over the years so there is no reason to refocus on them, but any criticism makes you look like you support it. It also doesnt help that some pedo groups have tried to associate themselves with the LGBTQ community to try an normalize their behavior, but no one is buying that connection other than conservatives.
No. Being a pedophile in and of itself only harms the pedophile. Acting out on their urges is what hurts other people.
So based on what I'm seeing, the definition of pedophilia is just sexual feelings directed towards children. That doesn't necessarily mean any action is taken. But I also wonder what the percentage is of pedophiles who were molested as a child. And would this counter the idea that they're born that way? Or is there a difference between someone who is molested and then ends up molesting, and someone who is just born with this condition?
Or Mine??? I was of the thought a Pedophile was the person and pedophilia was the act? I may be wrong here?
