I find great pleasure in witnessing how this forum has evolved ever since SPD became our Grand Poobah.
Yeah, but it's almost as slow as watching grass grow or paint dry. Fortunately, Trump and his cronies winning the Darwin awards year after year after year occurs with much much greater frequency and that is fun if not incredibly painful to watch.
Wolves are predators. Cats not regular diet but predators hunt what is available. Archeological evidence shows cats essentially domesticated themselves. When humans began semi settled communities, that meant food storage, which meant rodents. Also garbage dumps for bones and other scraps. Cats were given access to a rich food source. The wild cats who ventured among a strange species self selected as most adaptable individuals. Cats are unusual in that most predators hunt until their stomachs are full, then stop, but cats continue killing prey even when no longer hungry. This is why they are so valuable for rodent control, and conversely, so destructive to birds.
I certainly wouldn't say that he wanted to shoot the cat, but if it were to charge at him? I love animals as much as anyone, but I'm not in favor of becoming cat food.
Egyptians were so far as is known first to bring cats indoors, make them pets, but domestic cat predated. They did worship cats. They knew their place.
Egyptian made (and still do) falafel from fava beans instead of garbanzo beans. I am not sure how much we should value their judgement
He's a creep because he was frightened and wished he had a weapon, so he could defend himself from a deadly wild animal? Weird.
