LINKThe spurs have released James White today. Apparently he did not play well enough in the summer league games, so the spurs decided to waive him. This makes me upset cause now we officially do not have any young developing guards on the team.

You can't just base this guy's talent and potential off of five summer league games.. the Spurs actually WAIVED this kid? He's got incredible athleticism, not to mention he has great length for a SG.. and like you said, the Spurs needed a young, developing SG behind Manu Ginobili and Michael Finley.

I guess you guys are completely forgetting about Marcus Williams then, who will turn out to be an excellent all-around player. He'll need some time, but he's that developmental guard you guys are talking about not having... you do.

James White does nothing well besides dunk the basketball.

First off Marcus Williams has not even been signed by the spurs yet but yeah I guess we are kind of forgetting about him. I just dont understand why the spurs could not have kept both of them on the roster considering when they had James White they still had 2 open spots. Also James White was a good scorer in the D-League and in the regular season games he played for the spurs he had a good shot and averaged 8.3 ppg in the 6 games he played for us. But if we've won 3 championships with R.C. Buford making calls like this I guess I cant really question his decisions. They have been the right ones.

we released him because he's soft, I like him cause he was our only chance of seeing a spurs player win a slam dunk contest, but other then that, he can't finish at the rim unless no one is around, he's pushed around on defense, and the spurs are trying to get under the cap....... I think the spurs should ime udoka, he's 29 but who cares about the future, we need to win now while duncan is still somewhat young, no point in getting all these young dudes that can't help us now
