With the passing of Sir Sean Connery, one of my favorites, it got me to thinking of who everybody's favorite actor is. In no particular order my tops are Connery, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Robert DeNiro, Harrison Ford and Samuel L. Jackson.
Gregory Peck even though they were/are right wing nutjobs, I like(ed) John Wayne, Charlton Heston, Clint Eastwood and yes on DeNiro, Denzel, Freeman, Hanks. Also, Tommy Lee Jones & Robert Duvall
Mine wouldn't be A listers in most people's opinions....I like actors like Tim Roth, John Turturro, Helena Bonham Carter, Viggo Mortensen, Gary Oldman....John Goodman.. Don Cheadle.and my favorite probably ever was Phillip Seymour Hoffman or Sam Rockwell....the actors who make small independent films work
Can't leave Jimmy Stewart off the list. Wasn't Gregory Peck in To Kill A Mocking Bird? What an actor her was!
And for @crandc lets not forget Meryl Streep, Kate Blanchett, Jodi Foster, Judi Dench, Julianne Moore, Helen Mirran, Francis McDormand.
good list but you left out Hillary Swank....one of the greats along with Viola Davis and Angelica Huston
Stanley Turrentine needs a shoutout as well as Matt Damon, James Spader, John Cusack and Christian Bale
You said “actor” so I assumed you were looking at make leads. I have a bunch of favorite actresses, many of whom have already been listed. Susan Sarandon and Maggie Smith would be a couple of suggestions.
I had to look up his name but Aidan Gillen is one of those great irish actors that makes movies better
Besides Sean Connery (He was James Bond) Jeff Bridges, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Jodie Foster, Jack Nicholson, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Harrison Ford, John Cusak, James Spader, Gene Hackman, Sidney Poitier, Liam Neeson, Clint Eastwood, Robin Williams, Anthony Hopkins, Francis Mcdormand, Steve Beucemi, Hillary Swank, Viola Davis, Sigourney Weaver, Kathy Bates, Susan Sarandon
