Anyone doing Home based workouts? I have really limited space, I have some dumbbells and a Kettle Bell. Just ordered a Gorilla Bow, we'll see how that is. The Gym in my apartment has been closed and so has the Gym down the street from me.
For sure, its expensive but they are running a deal on their site for 20% off right now so I pulled the trigger.
My son has a state of the art gym in his garage...the whole layout with all the equipment...I helped him drywall the garage and paint it...finish work...looks great...he's got a pro quality ping pong table in there too...I have a portable small indoor setup for ping pong that my wife and I use all winter...my favorite though was the trampoline we used to have...run on that for two minutes and you'll sweat like hell and have burnin calves....kids finally destroyed it so I got a couple of jump ropes for the wife and I....we play badminton or speedminton in the yard without the net...speedminton is great because it can handle the wind....I have a basketball hoop in the driveway...options. It's important to break a sweat and even more important to be buff when the covid gets you and you have to wear a hospital gown! You youngin's should be burnin' calories in the bedroom!
I have an adjustable bench, bowflex select techs and I just got an Inspire FTX cable machine. The FTX has been a game changer and hardly takes up any room, got it from Costco if anyone is interested. I need some cardio equipment. I usually like ellipticals but everyone seems to love peloton so maybe I'll get one of those
I wish I had the room for one of those cable machines. Really fucking cool. I liked the Bowflex Treadclimber when they had them at my gym
Ive been going to 24hr for the last month as it is very well managed. Require masked equipment is cleaned before and after and the machine section I use people a spaced about 8 feet apart. Im safer there than at home depot or Costco I believe.
I walk to the fridge and back at least once every couple hours. Thankfully I work from home mostly, so I'm able to keep up the routine without too much trouble...
Me and my wife workout every weekday morning...our routine alternates upper/lower body each day combined with some time on the stationary bike. We have a "Nautilus" type corner unit I bought about 20 years ago, an elliptical stationary bike, as well as 5, 10, 20 lbs dumbbells...our routing takes about 20-30 minutes...we're both in very good shape for our age. But if you're pressed for space and/or money, you can really accomplish a lot with just a set of dumbbells.
I need to be around other people with similar goals about how to improve their fitness. It drives me to work harder. Okay, I can no longer do this but there was a time when no one worked harder at fitness then me. You havee no idea how much I miss those days.
I got a power rack in my garage with 800lbs in weight. I bench press, squat, deadlift, do arms, bent over rows, pull ups. wanna get dumbbells up to 100lbers if I can find them on the cheap
Got the Gorilla Bow in a few days ago. Its pretty fucking massive, but its sturdy and seems to be good. Its not like doing free weights or anything, so don't get any delusions, but its pretty good if you are low on space and want to get some exercise in.
My wife purchased one of those Total Gyms. There it sits. God bless that woman. Lord knows, she doesn't need it! Me, OTOH.....criminy.
