This is an angle I haven't thought of when discussing the other day. Good points. I've never been for abolishing for the same reasons you mentioned, but I never tied the all Blue All red states thing together like that before.

This is a point valid enough for me to reconsider my stance on it. I do believe more people should vote, if anything just to get more involved and knowledgeable about the gov. process. I'm still not in favor of the masses being the end all to pick a leader(just look at Wheelers opponent who will get votes), but for me, I need to come to some sort of compromise because your point is good enough to make me wonder.

Oh, crap! Well you win then. I suggest hitting barfo with his cane in order to avoid any bruising on your fists.

This is exactly why I never fight. I will occasionally blow the paper of my straw in the direction of another old geezer. It can be for something as simple as being turned down for my request to spend the night with his 80 year old wife. I get turned on by all those wrinkles and flab. Yes, I'm a bully.

Not gonna lie, seeing every election come down to Florida and Pennsylvania is quite boring. The same 8-10 states are the only ones that matter.

It is absolutely insane that we're waiting with bated breath over 2000 votes in Georgia, while Joe has 4 million more votes in the entire country.

    Definitely.

There won’t be another Republican president.

The last time they won the popular vote? 2004 :ghoti:

you keep bringing this up without realizing that the same advantage urban people would get is the one rural people already HAVE now.

Wyoming has a population of about 600K. Oregon is about 4.2 million

Wyoming has 3 electoral votes. If Oregon was apportioned EC votes at the same rate Wyoming is, we'd have 21 electoral votes instead of 7. If California was apportioned the same as Wyoming it would have 195 electoral votes instead of 55

in this 2020 election, by just shuffling around a couple hundred thousand vote it could have ended up that Joe Biden lost the election even though he got 7 million more votes.

All because of that stupid fucking electoral college

the "protect the minority" defense used to justify the electoral college is vapid. Not one state has an electoral college for counties because that would be fucking stupid. It doesn't get smarter when you take it up to the next level. How about the tyranny of the minority? Democrats have now won the popular vote in 7 or the last 8 elections. In that time, the R's have appointed 16 judges to the Supreme Court, the D's have appointed 5. Because of the electoral college

Why? The cities buy those products... They have a stake in keeping them healthy as well.

But wouldn't that new leadership look pretty similar to Biden?

Honestly I'm not sure you're right.

Even though I acknowledge that Biden is not a good candidate.. This election really should not have been this close.

She was a horrible candidate. Regardless of her education 60% of the country can't stand her.

This is a popularity contest. She lost to a freaking clown.
