    From the very same album, I'm still a big fan of "South City Midnight Lady"...love the song from start to finish but especially intrigued by the number of guitar tracks that are laid down starting at the 4:10 mark...there's definitely "a lot going on" there...see if you can determine how many different guitars there playing at the end of the song...very impressive for a 70's analog recording.

    That was pretty impressive...don't know how he did that without his left hand cramping up on him.

    I count two acoustics, followed by a steel pedal, on to electric and bass. (5) Got to say, this is another great Doobs song. This album and Stampede should be played religiously (cause we need it these days). Thanks for the post ~`59

    ...Yup, and I also always liked Toulouse Street & The Captain and Me albums. And the use of 2 drummers at a time also helped their sound.

    IO absolutely agree. I saw them 8 times. One concert featured them as the warm up band for Lynyrd Skynrd. They played about an hour and Pat said " We appreciate and enjoy L...S...".
    Since the RnR HOF induction staff had dissed the Doobs for 40 years, they have no credibility and are a bogus organization. For example, they inducted The Cure, Nat King Cole and worst yet RAP, over these talented musicians. The only cool thing they have is the merchandise center in Cleveland. Just sayin~ my opinion.

    Yeah, the RRHOF voters are a joke...from day 1 I was a huge Heart fan and was really pissed off by some of the people/bands that were inducted before them....ABBA, Beastie Boys, Blondie, Depeche Mode, The Pretenders?...seriously?

    And I saw Skynyrd 3 times...great band. Allen Collins was a VERY underrated guitarist.

    When you saw and experienced Skynyrd, you heard complete musical precision coupled with an excellent sound staff. Man, they were slick~. I Saw them with the Doobs and some unknown.

    The bands I thought were deserving induction before obscure acts were accepted are: Los Lobos ( their Quality song library exceeds 30 songs- I have many favorites but "Georgia Slop" should be the first rock song after a throw down quality Hennessee shot. On your third shot you hear Good Morning Atzlan.
    Little Feat, of whom, individually should be recognized are Lowell George, Paul Barriere and Richie Hayward. Paul Revere and the Raiders were ultra cool for 3 years. How many men would wear a frilly shirt and colonial attire for money? I am a total fan for The James Gang, Joe Walsh, The Tubes, JoJoGunne, Spirit, Mountain, The Fixx, Moody Blues, Deep Purple, Rory Gallagher, Ronnie Earl, Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, The Outfield, and Willian Clarke.
    All you old farts reading this should include your band nominations and opinion of the RnR HOF. I know this should be a separate thread but inspiration precedes protocol.

    Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh, and another underrated guitarist, Frank Zappa are my favs...Ha, Mountain Climbing was a fav album of mine back in the day. Saw Leslie West live in the mid 70's...big SOB with fingers like bananas, and it was amazing how someone with fingers that huge could play guitar like he did.

    Finger pickers like Lindsey Buckingham and Mark Knopfler are also favs....hell, Jeff Beck even eventually threw away the pick and became a finger picker.

    Here's Jeff and Tal and Vinny;

    If you can pick on acoustic, electric is a natural progression.
    She is playing a Jazz bass. After a half hour, due to the weight, your neck muscles ache. But you play because the action and active battery pickup are outstanding.

    I'm fairly certain you've lost a loved one(s).....and certain times of the year (seasons, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) sadly remind you of them...how you miss them, and the times you had together.

    This is one of those poignant songs. I've always loved Nat King Cole's sound....
