Just one rule: Make the pick assuming that we don’t trade up/down/out.

    —-First Round: Aleksej Pokusevski
    —-Second Round: Jay Scrubb

Reason: Neil prioritizes building through the draft, at least according to Quick, due to the struggles of signing free agents. In other words, he’s not trading the pick.

His M.O. seems to be taking the best prospect available, which is why I believe 100% he’ll take a big time boom/bust player over immediate help: Bane/Tillman/etc.

Draft stocks also suggest that Nesmith/Bey likely won’t be available at #16. Speaking of stocks, here is what Givony has to say:

    Go!

It's nine days before the draft so a lot can happen between now and then. It may be too early to reply on this thread but I'll half play along. I'm with you, if he's their and I think he will be I predict we'll take Poku. As far as the 46th pick in the draft, who the fuck knows who will be around and I personally haven't scouted most of the players that will be in that range and I don't know anyone that I haven't read up on and watched tape on because the college season was so short with no tourney so I'll guess that we take Cassius Winston because I know him... I don't know if he'll make it in the league but I think he's a good guy (I hope Olshey has a better idea than I do).

Ok so this predicting what will happen as opposed to what I want to happen.

I agree with you, but I dunno if it’s just me being hopeful. I do remember that Olshey was very high on Porzingis though, and Poku shares some similarities and also fits Stotts’ system. But so does McDaniels and he was a big time recruit outta high school, which for whatever reason Olshey seems to value. Scrubb seems like a lock, but I’m not sure he’ll be there when our second round pick comes around. Could Olshey trade up in the second to secure him? He has a history of moving for guys he wants. Crabbe, Layman, Trent just off the top.

I agree that Neil has a history of swinging for the fences with lower-half first-round picks. (He goes for 4-year role-players like Layman and Patty with his second-rounders, but I wonder if he'll do that given that we have a bunch of players like Wenyen and Hoard who play that role right now.)
Fitting this profile in our general range:
    Precious Achiuwa (I approve)
R.J. Hampton (the fact that this guy compares himself to Zach Lavine is a giant red flag)
    Aleksej Pokusevski

    Possibly also:
    Josh Green

Dear God let it not be:
    Cole Anthony

Past couple of drafts he's picked according to this strategy and taken Anfernee and Nas. Will this cause him to re-think his strategy or will he say it's too soon to tell? Will Dame getting up there in years cause him to change course and pick an immediate contributor (S. Bey, TILLMAN)? Doubt it.

Second rounder: impossible to predict. It's not even a high second-rounder. I would guess he goes for a draft-and-stash, so I'm going to go with Yam Madar.

Josh Green - could be best on ball defender in draft.
Pritchard - 4 year pg that is very bb savvy and works hard and is hard nosed.

green is so underrated, at least by all these media types. I haven’t seen him mocked in the top 15 by anyone, but I think he will go higher than the consensus.

Find it hard to believe we don't either trade the pick or draft a more NBA ready player, we are in a wind now window with Dame we gotta add talent that can contribute big time NOW

Each day stocks are becoming more defined...

I’m leaning heavily towards moving Scrubb to #16

I'll be livid if we take Scrubb at 16.

16th pick: Traded as part of a package for a player already in the league

46th: Traded with a future 2nd to move up in the 2nd round to draft Scrubb

    Woodard to me is underrated.
    6'7"
    230 lbs
    7'2" wingspan
    42.9% from '3' last season
Multi-positional defensive capabilities allowing only 0.67 points in one-on-one matchups.
