Closer to a copy of Will Barton if you want a comparison. Same height, good first step and shoots lot of floaters and layups. Not noted for defense like Barton as well.

Scrubb has an inch and a half of reach on Barton and outweighs him by over 10 pounds. He’s also a year younger than Barton was when he measured. And unlike Barton he has a frame that suggests he can add more weight. Their games I guess are comparable, but Scrubb has legit SF size.

Olshey be drafting for next year not for this year. Ariza Hood Trent Mario there in last year of there contract. That's fits Schaub position. But I thinking olshey is targeting Schaub for the 46th.

I hope we draft Bey, but I'd still be thrilled with a PG. Playing Ant at PG is the best way to destroy his career.

That would be a great pick at #46...but don't think he lasts that long.

Im thinking we trade up with SA for 11.
Neil did it to select Zman Im thinking he will trade up again to get a player he can plug in off the bench right away.

You got someone specific in mind that seems like a can’t-miss Olshey guy that we’d have to trade up for? The difference between then and now is that we had three 1st rounders and could afford to do that. Trading picks with SA this year would mean potentially giving up a pick in a loaded draft class next year or other pieces, only to trade up four spots.

No point really. Terry about to put em in the doghouse. You have to wait your turn young rook.

that would be the first time Olshey brought in a rookie with the intention of immediately playing him since...idk...Dame? And we weren’t a playoff team back then.

I checked out this video of him and was not impressed. I admit I only watched three minutes in but they showed mostly him making dunks when his teammates found him wide open. He seemed to struggle with makes under the basket with any pressure and he just looked a little slow to me.

Different era, look at the Rooks that get playing time off the bench now.

to get up to 11 you could possibly have a shot at P Williams, Okoro, Newsmith, S. Bey or Precious. One or more could drop, but no guarantee to 16.
Just a hunch, who knows whats going to happen?

I don’t see much separation between those guys and some of the others that should be there at 16. Those guys you listed all project to be role players, complimentary pieces. And I don’t see what Portland has to offer to move up into the lottery anyway.

Last time I checked it was still the Olshey/Stotts era around here and in that era unless the team is decimated by injuries rookies are lucky to get spot minutes. Don't get me wrong Stotts lets second year players compete for PT but it doesn't seem that's his philosophy with rookies.

Best shooters in the draft, are in the group. Look at what Miami did this year and last with rookie shooters. Nesmith and Bey can flat out shoot the ball.

FWIW, CBS Sports is projecting that we take Hampton and Nwora. I don't hate the Nwora idea. Sounds kind of 1 dimensional, but he has decent size and can shoot with range.

Trent was taken second round and ASimons first.
If we were to get Nesmith or Bey, they would get a chance backing up the three. Both solid defenders too.
