For $50 I'll accept your 911 call. Otherwise all you're going to get is a busy signal.

I have met and worked with Jo Ann Hardesty. I will not work with her again. We backed her campaign but will no longer back anything about this woman. She completely changed her positions as soon as the election was over.

Politicians have to work deals and find common ground. I do get that. But this lady changes ideas and positions out of spite and holds grudges about trivial things. She doesn't have the ability to do the things she thinks she can and when called on it she reacts instead of responding. Then when the mess starts she won't clean it up.

The lyft driver here got a case of classic Hardesty.

It's amazing how just seeing someone speak publicly can give off this vibe. I only saw her speak once when she was running and all of that came through. It's really too bad because there was another black woman running for the same spot who seemed very sweet and caring. She unfortunately did not win and every time I hear people talk about how they wish Jo Ann would run for Mayor, I gag a little bit.

Every time they update the article it gets better.

    "
Then Hardesty herself dialed 911 at 9:48 p.m. from the back seat.

Asked what her emergency was, she said, “Well, I’ve got a Lyft driver that decided he would just drop me off at a filling station. Well, I’m not getting out of the car, in the dark, at a filling station, not happening - all because I asked him to put the window up. I’m not leaving.”

She said there was no violence. No weapons were involved.

“He says I’ve got to get out of his car, or he would call the police, so I decided to call for him," she continued.

The dispatcher told Hardesty several times that what she described wasn’t a crime, that it was a civil matter, noting that the car was the driver’s property. Hardesty still asked police to respond.

“I am not going to allow him to leave me at the side of the road,” she said."

Same gal that wants to defund the cops, but is quick to call 911 and is afraid to get out of a car at a filling station.

    This is the best part

Now I certainly do not want to turn this into something it isn't but here is what my take on it is. From my experience with her she will take this and turn it into a negative thing. She will say things like she feels like she is being singled out. She will eventually say that if it wasn't her the drivers response would have been different. I'm hoping she has the intelligence not to say the responses have any prejudice at all but i question if that is the case?
I'm serious when i say this. This lady does not play nice at all. She will try to turn this on either the driver or the police.

Fact is she was at the casino and called a lyft driver to get home. Then she was a bad fair that decided to try force her will upon the driver. He responded in a reasonable fashion. She is lucky he didn't throw her out in a secluded area and drive away.

I'm going to be honest... I'm SHOCKED that the race card hasn't been played. Not sure what race the driver was though.

Well you don't have to be "Shocked" any more because she came out full racial last night.
"I did what i could to do to get home safe" ...."When you are a black person living in a city with a bunch of thugs driving around in their trucks with their (Trump) flags... Nope not gonna happen."

She always plays the victim card. Every single time! Absolutely takes no responsibility for her actions. It's always "What she HAD to do". It's always "What NEEDS to happen".

I'm telling you this is just one of many issues with this woman.

I'm guessing the driver wasn't white or that would have been called out.

    When there's a will, there's a way.

The funny thing to me is that the whole argument is that it's less safe to involve the police for black people. So she is calling people that are more dangerous than the Trump voters.

When was the last time a black person was assaulted by Trump voters in Portland compared to a black person being assaulted by police?

The part that gets me is the city she is talking about voted almost 7-3 in favor of Biden. If someone was to pull up right now in a truck with a Trump Flag and start harassing a black woman they would be in a bad position.
Hell if a person driving a truck that had a Trump flag on it was giving anyone problems they would be in a bad position right about now. Not really a very popular thing to do around here.

That's the part that makes the whole thing so funny. She's arguing that we need to defund the police and that the police are dangerous... and yet she calls the cops for a totally civil problem. It's so hypocritical.
