a bit of excess hyperbole there

    * in terms of TS%, Randle actually has a higher career TS% than CJ; mainly because he gets to the FT line at a much higher rate: career FT rate of .394 vs CJ's .167. So, your contention that Randle is an inefficient scorer would only be correct if you also claimed CJ was an inefficient scorer too. They both are around the NBA average though in terms of TS%. Randle is a big, and he's assisted on more of his FG's so it's probably fair to give him some demerits because of those things

the biggest problem Randle has, in terms of efficiency, is he went from averaging 0.5 attempted three's a game in 2018 to 3.6/game this season; and he's a shitty 3 point shooter. So, either he's an out of control chucker, or he's been getting bad coaching; or maybe both.

Randle is a good rebounder though. As for him being a worse defender than CJ: what I see is over the last couple of seasons, Randle has posted a defensive rating about 1 point better than his teams while CJ has posted a defensive rating about 3 points worse. So, if you're trading for either player for their defense, you're likely a terrible GM
    **********************************************

Payton definitely is an inefficient shooter. He's about as "horrible" as Evan Turner, maybe worse. He's a perimeter player you don't want shooting the ball, and that's disadvantage, offense.

But Payton IS good as a facilitator. Per 36, he has averaged 8 assists ve 3 turnovers. That's a 2.7 assist/turnover ratio which is good for a PG. He's also a sold rebounder from the PG position
    ***********************************************

those things said, yeah, that would be a poor trade for the Blazers. They would lose more than they gain

    sorry about the paragraphs

I would love to land Draymond. Wonder what GS is thinking-- maybe they have their sights set on Wiseman?

When I've proposed this trade in earlier threads, I've also had the 8th pick coming back to us. I wouldn't do it straight up, but I'd do it along with decent draft compensation.

O’Connor said today on his podcast that he’s heard Portland is one of the teams sniffing around on Jrue Holiday

around the 15 minute mark. The idea being a three guard lineup with more off ball minutes for Dame/CJ. He does say he hasn’t heard anything about them the last week though, suggesting they don’t have the pieces to get it done.

I think that’s interesting though. Could mean the Hampton/Maxey connection has some legs. I’d love to see Dame/CJ with less responsibility.

either CJ or Jrue would have to come off the bench. Don't think either would be interested even if it's good for the team.

Even though that 3 guard rotation would be freaking amazing. We can’t really get Jrue without trading CJ. Doing a Jrue for CJ trade doesn’t make sense for both team, so it would have to be a 3 team trade somehow

22:15 Sign-and-trade possibilities for Danilo Gallinari, Davis Bertans and Jeff Teague

Gozlan: Portland, I think, has a real hole that Gallinari can fill right in. I feel like with Portland he can get the most minutes and obviously a starting opportunity there. He’d be a big part of the Blazers’ offense. They’ve got enough space below the hard cap to get him in a sign-and-trade.

With a 30 year old Lillard they should move down, not up.

Jrue, Dame, and CJ would all start. Like Paul, Schroeder, and SGA did in OKC. Jrue can guard bigger players. It would work.

I think they can find far better offers than this one. Even if we add the 16th pick I don't think that's nearly enough.

A 6'4 combo guard playing the 3 next to an undersized backcourt?

An undersized SF that has a questionable 3pt shot at that?

    Makes no sense.

Wed have to trade Ariza in that deal. I like it offensively but itd guarantee us as a bottom 5 defense.
