Gallinari is 3 years younger than Millsap. Assuming they both wanted multiple years at around the same $$, that is a big consideration.
He wouldn’t have opted out if he was. Free agency started awhile ago, so he’s most likely already gotten offers that are either greater than $5M, or for multiple years. These guys aren’t going into the weekend blind and hoping for the best lol.
He’ll get more than that on a contract. Meyers Leonard will still be on a roster next season for the vet minimum at worst.
If we are fortunate enough to draft either Bey or Nesmith they are Hayward type shooters that play better D.
I would totally want him if we traded CJ but as long as CJ is playing with Dame, CJ will be the primary backup PG, so spending money on a guy like Dunn might not be the best use of the MLE, especially when we could use that money to get a post to rotate with Nurk and Zach.
Man if we could get Grant for the MLE we would be so much better. Zach could come off the bench, he could rotate down to SF when needed, he would just be a huge get. The only problem is we couldn't even give him a raise, he would just have to want to come here for the same money he was making. I guess if we really wanted him a sign and trade would be possible using Ariza, then at some point Zach and Hoodie could battle it out to see who starts next to Grant at the other forward spot. We also would still have the full MLE.
good player that will most likely get a lot more than the MLE, hence the opting out. I do wonder which teams will be giving these guys those contracts. There aren’t many with cap space. Could we see more sign and trades?
I just think we'll be seeing a lot of sign and trades. I think both Grant and Wood will get to their new teams that way.
Jerami Grant would be such an awesome fit for us at the '4'... but, I'm guessing he'll end up somewhere else. That said, I'd love to be wrong!
C'mon, Jerami. Give us the birth town discount! (As a side note, how the hell did I not realize until now that he was Harvey's son?)
All of a sudden I’m much more intrigued by free agency than the draft lol. Looks like Neil is finally going for it. Probably means he only targets proven vets, but I’ve never trusted him in free agency. I love the Covington move though, so maybe he pulled his head outta his ass.
I want a center (who isn't whiteside) for Nurk insurance, and a good backup PG. Unless Zach is ready to go. If he is, then we don't need another C, and can try to find shooting elsewhere.
what we do all depends on Collins' status i think. He's a better backup C than anyone we can get in FA. If he's good to go, I want to focus on getting a PG or maybe even bringing Melo back only in a limited role.
