Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! our former player and fan favourite Esteban Batista, led Uruguay to a victory over USA in the Panamerican Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Uruguayan PF/C scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, comparing to Hibbert's 9 and 2. That's only to show how wrong Woodson was about this guy, and to confirm that he can play a role on an NBA team. Hibbert is considered one of the best centers of the nation, and had a size advantage over Batista (7'2'' over 6'10''), but "Este" gave him a lesson and made him foul out. Hibbert was even considered by the Hawks management to be drafted, but we had this guy and coach W never noticed...
Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! It means absolutely nothing, and Batista is still a "scrub" in the NBA.

Hibbert is still going to be a better basketball player, and there is a reason why Esteban doesn't have an NBA contract anymore. You can't take any of these games seriously.
Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! what reason? I'm sure Esteban belongs to the NBA, and maybe Hibbert becomes a great player someday
Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! Some international players play well in these summer leagues because their game fits international play better, while it doesn't transition great into the NBA, or it takes a while to develop. Same goes for the US as some of their games don't translate well into international play, such as LeBron James. And, I think that could be the case here, but I could be wrong. CB32 was right about Batista being a "scrub" in the NBA, but to call Hibbert a NBA "scrub" is wrong, seeing he is still in college and hasn't gotten a chance to experience NBA games yet.
Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! I hope you do realize that Roy Hibbert isn't in the NBA yet and that the international game is completely different than the NBA game. If Batista met Hibbert in the NBA, Hibbert would dominate the matchup as Batista is simply just a scrub on Atlanta. Also, at this point Hibbert is still slightly raw, he needs 2 or so years in the NBA before his offensive game starts to really develop.
Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! ok folks, you're right. Hibbert is the next Bill Russell, and Greg Oden the next Wilt Chamberlain. But a uruguayan scrub killed your hoya sucesor of Ewing, Mutombo and Zo. sad...really sad. I'm out like Pip's fortune

Re: Batista ate Roy Hibbert alive!!!!!!!! I meant to mention this to, but I forgot.Carlos Arroyo killed the USA Team when he was playing with the Puerto Rico team. But is Arroyo considered a great NBA player? No. He's a good player, but a backup in the NBA.
I'm not all that high on Hibbert anyway... he might not be the sort of guy that keeps up with an NBA game very well. He'll make it as a guy who's big, but that doesn't get him more than a couple minutes a game.

To really play he's going to have to get in much better shape than he's ever been at GTown.
