Besides NO honoring a wink-wink commitment (which keeps him in good graces with agents and players), what some of you don't realize is this really impacts nothing else as far as our ability to acquire players this offseason. We still otherwise have all the same assets with or without Hood. It came down to keeping Hood and having all of our other assets, or not keeping Hood and having the same assets. He didn't eat up available cap space or other assets. I don't expect another trade of significance at this time, but maintaining the most assets at least makes it much easier to make a trade of significance should one present itself. We were better off keeping Hood, regardless of what we paid him.
