People asking for a backup PG need to realize that Ant has been working on his PG skills this offseason. I think NO is planning on having Ant play the PG bench role with Trent playing SG.

every move this offseason has been about winning now. They don’t have time to wait around on a maybe, which is what Simons is. If he earns the backup spot, great, but he cannot be plan A. Also losing Hezonja was whatever, but it does mean one less ball handler. At this moment, Portland has three options to run the offense; Dame, CJ, and Simons. That’s just unacceptable tbh.
As a 43 year fan of the Blazers and the Mariners, the Melo re-signing reminds me a lot of the Mariners re-signing Griffey the year after they brought him back. Griffey finished the season back by being carried off the field then instead of retiring he came back and ended up leaving in the middle of the night in the middle of the season. I'm not saying Melo should retire, but sometimes a nice heartfelt season should just end at that and move on. I hope it ends differently.
