I get that, but Griffey was so broke down physically. Melo looks like he's rolled back the clock with his nutrition and workouts.
Melo re-signed for Vet Min -- like him or not it was a BARGAIN -- Geez -- BTW i like him and good chance if the Blazers realize they do not need him like DJJ blows up or something they will prolly release him to find a team with minutes for him if he becomes a distraction.
Wait Melo signed for the minimum??? That’s big time. Means we still have the BAE to throw at a ball handler.
The dude wants to be here. It says a lot. Reminds me of Hood taking a discount last summer. They clearly really like our team.
That’s awesome! I still like Melo in limited minutes and he’s still a star name that gets respect around the league.

Looking at available point guards the only guy worth the BAE to me is probably Teague, but he might get more. I would throw it at Batum if that’s what it took to get a deal done.
Fair enough I am all for getting another backup PG. I'm just saying NO might want to see Ant first to see if he's progressed at all.
I'm amazed by the contracts our second round swingmen have gotten: Will Barton 4/54 Allen Crabbe 4/70 Pat Connaughton 3/16 Jake Layman 3/11 Gary Trent Jr. ??? Every single one of them have gotten a multi-year guaranteed contract after their rookie deals.
Totally agree with that, but I worry more about Melo's reduced role (assuming it is reduced) and how he handles it. Griffey was fine with it (in fact he slept through a lot of it), but will Melo be fine with it? I guess that's why they play the games as they say.
