Both spots open. Players on two way deals will be eligible to play 50 games (as opposed to 45 DAYS) this season.

    Guess em

What are the tax implications of two ways?

Is Gabriel eligible? I'd take him every day of the week over Hoard or Moses.

    Didn't see that.

I think Louis King is eligible for a 2-way. Thoughts on him?

I haven't been impressed with either Hoard or Moses. I think Portland should move on from both...

dunno much about King, didn’t watch him in college. Moses didnt really impress me either. Hoard seems to be a jump shot away.

I wish there was a list of available undrafted guys somewhere.

Hoard appears very stiff when he moves, with a slow first step. Although it does appear that he reads the court better than some of the more fluid athletes.
I could see him topping out as a journeyman bench player (if he ever develops a jump shot).

I'd like to focus the 2-way players on someone who at least has a best case potential of an NBA starter.

Fuck if Neil's doing his job right, including employing the best scouts in the league, trying to predict two way players should be as easy as trying to pick the lottery. These should be two out of a few hundred guys, we know the names of some of them but don't know the names of others. These should be guys that have a chance at being Duncan Robinson. Experience in our system should play no part, pedigree like high school or college prospect rankings from a year or two ago or what they looked like a couple of years ago at Nike Hoops Summit should in no way be weighed like play in the past year and how the scouts project their potential currently is weighed. If this is an easy prediction like Hoard and Brown, I'll be upset.

How much of the Blazers need to stay under a certain cap # is about being able to re-sign Trent next year and not have to pay even more in tax?

I.e., not being a repeat lux tax violator, etc?

So it looks like the rule this year is players on two ways can spend the whole season with the team, but only appear in 50 games. They’re essentially roster players, especially in Portland where Olshey prefers players to stay and develop in market. So logic says the final spot should go to a point guard.

Frank Mason is a free agent and still eligible for a two way. He was the best point guard in the g league last season. He even got some time with the bucks at the end of the season and produced good per/36 numbers (18.9 ppg, 8.8apg, 1.5spg in 9 games)

Milwaukee chose to invest in a vet (DJ Augustin) instead, but if we signed him he could be insurance in case Simons shits the bed again.
