PORTLAND, Ore. — Days before Thanksgiving, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said she believes residents who know their neighbors are violating the most recent round of COVID-19 protocols, which includes capping the number of people allowed in your home at six, should call the police.

“This is no different than what happens if there's a party down the street and it's keeping everyone awake,” Brown said in an interview Friday. “What do neighbors do [in that case]? They call law enforcement because it's too noisy. This is just like that. It's like a violation of a noise ordinance.”
 
Its impossible to enforce, yes.

If only people actually cared about other people, especially the ones they say they love... hmmmm....

Maybe it's not all the governments fault, but the selfish nature of people? Though, to be fair... the selfish nature comes from the twatsticker in the white house right now.

Six weeks ago, The Tennessean launched this weekly column on the evolving state of the coronavirus pandemic. For the sixth time in a row, the news is not good: The virus is worse today than ever.

The pandemic rapidly escalated across Tennessee and the nation as a whole last week, exceeding prior records for infections, hospitalizations and deaths. More Americans are carrying the virus now than during any prior spike, and the approach of Thanksgiving brings potential for transmission beyond any other event so far this year.

Tennessee set a record of averaging more than 4,500 infections per day Wednesday, although this average has since fallen to about 4,200.

As of Sunday, the state was reporting an average of 53 deaths per day, the statewide positivity rate was above 14% and more than 2,000 people were actively hospitalized with the virus. All three statistics were the highest ever reported.​

Hmmmm.....a lot more people visit here(?) As I related, though, at least one Oregon city is disregarding the Governor's s0-called mandate.

Don't be a putz. I love Oregon. Was born, raised, and spent most my life there. I just don't happen to agree with many of the current policies being handed down there.

It's not a fucking Thanksgiving mandate...it's a social responsibility....we need to stop idiots from traveling during a pandemic surge.....that's just common sense, not a loss of holiday options

That's the risk you run living in a Deep Red State with corrupt cops.....here the cops are actually working in the community to solve problems....in West Lane county we have a very good police force...sorry you live in such a horrible crime rate area.....and hopefully your neighbors don't have too many assault weapons and attack dogs to respond to your complaints. One of the local cops in my neighborhood played basketball in high school with my son....he knows everybody.

yeah....I thought so. Happy Thanksgiving to you! I'm thankful I don't live on the east coast in that blood soaked red state. Be careful around those pesky neighbors.....I'm fortunate in that my neighbors are friendly and peaceful.

Thank you. I do appreciate that.

My wife and I will be picking up a Thanksgiving dinner from a local grocery store and taking to my wife's mother in Kentucky. She's pretty much home bound, so we hope it blesses her. Tonight is my weekly trek to downtown Nashville to feed the homeless. I hope to extend special thanksgiving encouragement in whatever way without seeming "privileged." There's a fine line there. Generally speaking, though, I just crack jokes with them as I serve food. They laugh, so it's good. I love the opportunities.
 
My son, daughter in law and her dad as well as our grandson will have Thanksgiving together...all of us have tested negative and had very little contact outside our circle...the kids work in the medical field and are tested regularly....we take temperatures and stay outside on his back deck....we also provide day care for our grandson so feel very safe...it's our only social outlet....
 
My wife, son, mother, and I will have Thanksgiving. We have all quarantined for a week (accept me going to the clinic for a catscan). We are being safe.
