Dan Gable is a 2-time D1 national champion, world & Olympic gold medalist. He coached at the University of Iowa and has had a profound impact on the sport of wrestling and also MMA, directly coaching the likes of Mark Coleman, Mark Kerr, Tom Erickson, Rico Chiapparelli, and Pat Miletich. He also helped introduce Randy Couture, Dan Henderson, and Matt Lindland to MMA. The lineage of fighters who were either taught directly by Gable or one of his students is too long to list. The lame duck President made it uncomfortable by claiming he was also undefeated in elections, said he was bigger than Gable and asked him if he thought he could take him, then unceremoniously walked out of the presentation to avoid questions from the press, leaving Gable to shrug his shoulders while he stood there alone in front of the press.
