HDR means high-dynamic range, and is the current "must-have" TV feature. TVs that support it can usually offer brighter highlights and a wider range of color detail, for a punchier image overall. ... HDR requires both a TV that supports it and special HDR content. HDR images can achieve brighter highlights with more contrast. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and refers to the contrast or color range between the lightest and darkest tones in an image. Pretty cool. 4K means 3840 horizontal x 2160 vertical pixels or a total of 8,294,400 pixels.
Well crap. Forgot the link for the settings. Here you go https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/tu7000/settings
We're looking for a new bigscreen too. RTINGS.com is a site I like and they list the LG OLED as #1. Anyone know anything about LG or OLED? I haven't owned either.
The biggest thing with LG is make sure they can be worked on around where you live. I was told when My FIL was buying appliances for his new house there are no authorized LG repair people in Central Oregon so if there is a issue no way to get warranty work done on them.
I'm a Sony guy myself but I have to say Vizo TV's is pretty underrated. They are actually very nice and not so harsh on your wallet.
LG is top dog right now. Sony #2. OLED is next level brightness (4x LED) and superior blacks. Only OLED I can afford right now is a 6" smart phone.
Got a Samsung four years ago, small but my house is small. It's worked fine for me. Just got Roku, as in arrived today and still in box. Hope to get rid of Comcast.
Because of the design of OLED tv's they are still prone to burn in much like plasma was. I was a plasma adopter originally as they always had a much warmer and more detailed picture similar to OLED but with the improvements to LED (mostly QLED) the gap is much smaller If you are an avid gamer I would suggest looking at some Samsung QLED tv's as they have a pretty spectacular picture as well at a lesser cost and don't have the burn in issues. I definitely would be cautious using an OLED for a computer monitor though as a lot of static images are displayed on computer screens.
We bought a 50'' panasonic vieracast plasma in 2006 or 2007 - and amazingly it is still fantastic... Only place you can notice it's age is by the fact it has only 1 hdmi and 1 usb input...
Did or do you, allow your kids to have a television in their bedrooms? We didn't and I didnt grow up in an era where kids did.
lol...I actually remember hiding transistor radio with while in bed to listen to late Beaver baseball games. My mom always chastised me when I got caught.
