Sounds like a crock of politcally correct BS to me.. So when does Atlanta loook into dropping the Braves.
What a crock of shit. Another generic team, like the Washington Football Team... wtf? Florida St. Seminoles will continue to stand firm with their name and mascot, with the expressed written consent of the Seminole Tribal Council, back in 2005. *[1] The University of North Dakota, banned their logo in 2015; i.e., the Fighting Sioux. Politically correct opponents began a crusade to eliminate the logo and name back in 2005. The Chicago Blackhawks banned their logo, but kept their name, in July of this year; (you gotta' love their old jersey). Next? The KC Chiefs, this nation is full of snowflakes, social justice warriors, politically correct assholes, who want to re-write history and pass laws to limit the freedom of our speech*[2], while they hide in a designated "Safe Space", fkng pansies. I don't know of any sports logo or name that was intentionally created to disrespect any social group. Where does all this end? What's next? What's next, a lawsuit over the Angels and Padres? Separation of church and baseball? How about the SF and NY Giants, isn't that an affront to midgets and short people? With BLM Marxist leaders at the helm, will they demand De-Funding of the TX Rangers? Will the KC Royals face a revolt by the peasants? What about the Miami Dolphins? Will protestors demand their name be changed to the Turtles, or Seashells, because too many innocent Dolphins are killed in fishing nets, by Japanese Tuna Boats? I wouldn't be shocked if the Sierra Club and Audobon sue MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL, and all NCAA programs, which use any resemblance of an animal as a logo. Or, keep the critter's names and logos, as long as the animal rights groups, get a percentage of the profits while claiming all funds go towards improving living conditions. “[1] Florida State University’s official use of the Seminole name is different from other names in that it does not perpetuate offensive racial stereotypes nor is it meant to diminish or trivialize any Native American or indigenous peoples. Instead, it is used with explicit tribal permission and involvement to honor and promote the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s unconquered history and spirit that persists to this day. https://www.tampabay.com/sports/sem...le-tribe-stand-behind-the-seminoles-nickname/ *[2] Reference: Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code (Bill C-16, 2016. Martin Scorcese's Quote:
If there’s one thing sports should not be is ‘too sensitive’ in name only! What’s next? Will the LA Angels have to drop “angels” because the Catholic Church is offended? Too ridiculous! I am sure Mattingly23NY has covered it all. I apologize that I did not fully read his outrage.
