Read the article, it doesn't say that at all. I can do a copy/paste, a la Maris, if you want.

    ok...this story has me curious:

what makes me curious is that he's not only an employee of the federal government, he's employed in the White House. My thinking is that his medical bills are covered by insurance. He might have a deductible but it will be capped.

I'd also imagine insurance has paid almost all of his hospital bills (usually limits don't really kick in till 1 or 2 million dollars.

Why would he need a go fund me account for "astronomical" hospital bills? I'm probably way too cynical and being unfair, but considering the last 4 years of trump I wonder about a grift

Possibly he was a contractor. Companies do that precisely to avoid paying benefits.

A lot of the expense was making his house handicap accessible. I'm covered 100% by the VA but they won't install the handicap grab bars that I need throughout the house. I had to pay a private plumber a ton of money to put grab bars in my shower. I've been asking them if they won't install one more grab bar that I really need but they said no. I fell down in the shower due to that missing grab bar and hit my head hard on the tile floor. It took me half an hour of struggling with my wife's help to get back up. That was two days ago and my head, shoulders, legs and knees are still sore and scraped from the frightening accident. He's also going to need a trailer hitch and lift to roll in and out a wheel chair. He's also got to install a ramp so he can get in and out of his house. He's going to need a wheel chair elevator if he has a second floor or a basement. This is installed along the railing and only lifts the wheelchair and occupant. Then with most medical insurance it depends on whether you had the standard which requires you to pay 20% of your medical expenses or if you pay extra for your premium you can get a 10% out of pocket expense. This adds up if you are handicapped as much as that poor guy.

Santa Tests Positive for Virus After Photo Session With 50 Children
A husband and wife who dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus for an annual Christmas parade and tree-lighting ceremony in Georgia learned three days after the festivities that they had the coronavirus, officials said.

A Georgia couple who dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus for an outdoor photo session that was attended by about 50 children last week learned that they had tested positive for the coronavirus three days after the event, the county’s top elected official said on Tuesday.

The event was on Thursday and was part of an annual Christmas parade and tree-lighting ceremony in Ludowici, Ga., about 235 miles southeast of Atlanta, said Robert D. Parker, the chairman of the Long County board of commissioners.
