• The Trail Blazers play the Nuggets twice during the 2020 preseason, on Wednesday, Dec. 16 and again on Friday, Dec. 18.

• Portland and Denver will play three times during the 2020-21 regular season. The first meeting is on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The other two matchups will occur in the second half of the season.

• LAST SEASON: The Nuggets won the season series against the Trail Blazers in 2019-20, 3-1.

• Damian Lillard scored 45 points (13-21 FG, 11-18 3-PT, 8-10 FT) to go with four rebounds, 12 assists and three steals to lead Portland past Denver in Orlando on Aug. 6. It tied his own franchise record for three-pointers in a game.

• Playing against his former team on Aug. 6, Jusuf Nurkic recorded 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks. It was his fourth game after returning from injury.

• HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:

I wonder how much either team will play their starters?

This short lead time is putting extra pressure on the coaches. They need to integrate new starters, but they also have to play the bench enough to see who deserves to fill out the rotation. In Stotts' case, he also has to find more minutes for CJ2, our sleeper candidate for ROY!

A better team and a better test. Minutes should start to look more like a regular rotation unless it is a blowout late.

I think we'll see that in the first half at least but I still don't think we'll see the team go all out to win. I don't think we'll have the completely normal rotation because I doubt they'll let Nurk go for more than 20-24 minutes. The beginning of the game will be very telling as far as where the team is at on both ends of the court.

If Nurk had Elleby's hair I would call the the fashion police. That style belongs under a British Royal family guards hat. Nurks hair looks like a grandma's wig.

also, I noticed Sly is the only one who said Nurk's hair is gorgeous. Pretty concrete evidence that Sly is some kind of fucking poodle

My guess is first half regular season rotation.

Then on Friday regular season rotation through the third quarter.

Would be the easiest way to line things up with Nurkic and Rodney’s conditioning. Also, early in the season Stotts typically rolls with at least a ten man rotation, so I don’t see it getting tightened up too tight, especially with a shortened training camp and Hood on a minutes restriction
