I'm not gonna goad you into anything.
You can pick and choose anything you want to say at this point. Just make sure it fits your narrative. I stand by my original statement.
    “What a total cop out!”

Beginning of the year I thought they were grooming Zach to be the guy that takes over Chief's minutes next year and I was okay with that.

Now I think they resign him.....luxury tax be damned. Hopefully Jody Allen pulls out her checkbook....

Sure, that is the narrative from fans that don't want to think critically for themselves and instead prefer baseless whining.

Russ and PG both had 5 fouls if they went into overtime and had played big minutes...we'd have owned that overtime...Dame won it in regulation with a spectacular shot...no doubt but others also got us back in that game so he could be in that position...getting steals was huge

Baseless whining, as they had lost like 11 straight playoff games. People were critical that they couldn't get it done in the playoffs. Now that they've done something in the playoffs, people are much less critical of them. Weird how that works, when you're successful people don't criticize you as much. That's called reality in any job, whether you're an NBA player or whatever you do.

    You're missing the point.

Being critical is fine. Being inconsistent and irrational with where the blame and credit are being given is ridiculous and baseless.

Well perspective says that I might watch a game and think it players X fault that this play ran a certain way, you may watch it and say well it was the coaches fault for calling a bad play, and someone else might say oh no it was player Y who made the incorrect read on the play. Usually, when we get it into our heads that we don't like a Coach for whatever reason, our brains start to wire themselves to look for and blame/credit things in ways that fit the narrative that our brain is looking for. None of us are really above that, though some of us try very hard to not fall into that trap. I look at it as Stotts IMO isn't my favorite coach, I think he does some things well and others not so well. Last year I thought he got out coached, but I also pointed out that Dame wasn't attacking trap the way he should have, so I guess I "Blamed" both of them to some extent. This year I think especially in the playoffs they found different ways to attack the trap and it paid dividends, giving credit to both. So yes I may make baseless and "irrational" (at least to others) comments because I see things differently.

However, when it comes to who I'd rather get rid of, I think replacing a Coach is so much easier than replacing a star player. My main argument against Stotts this year was that he had been here for a while and at some point, if they don't have success it would be nice to see what this roster could do with someone else coaching them and a different scheme.

The point really is though, they won a series, they had success which is what just about all of us wanted, so while I am still critical of things, I'm more or less just happy with the progress they made this year.

Yep, that steal by Curry was huge as well as a couple of shots by McCollum to help this comeback and then Lillard did his thing. All great players need support to be successful. Like Lillard said, he knew if he made it, we won, if he missed it, we go to overtime with a fatigued and serious foul trouble OKC team.

Harkless made 4 FT's in a row that were all really clutch too after having missed a bunch man I was so nervous when he was shooting those.

Having a good coach helps players play also.
This thread should be locked down.
