Sign BRoy to a ten day contract in the spring and give him a new number..then retire that one day if they feel it's warranted

dont know if he alone is a big mistake but its certainly a big mistake to have cj, kanter and melo on the court at the same time.

that leaves two potential players who will pass the ball.

never gonna win a game like that.

The difference is CJ and Kanter are both above average NBA players even taking their bad defense into account. Melo is way below average.

When you have a CJ Ellerby on your team it doesn’t really hurt your team because everyone knows he sucks so he never plays when it matters (we don’t actually know he sucks yet but just an example) .

With Melo people are debating whether he should start or be 6th man of the year. He sucks AND we play him lots of minutes. That’s bad. Plus his game does not foster the style of play needed to win in this era. Plus his minutes keeps players with an upside like Giles on the bench when we should be rolling the dice on him.

Melo is a train wreck for this team or any team. Not his fault. He’s trying. It’s Blazers management’s fault. Took the Rockets two seconds to see it. Gonna take us 2 years to see it.

To top it off there’s a good chance Hood might be worse than Melo with his injury and all... they combined for 38 minutes yesterday.

It's a BIGGER mistake to have Jones Jr. And Roco on the floor at the same time.

There is a reason the rest of the league didn't want Melo....for severa years now. He may still be able to score a bit, but as far as contributing to a winning TEAM, let alone a legit contender? Those days seem loooong gone.

I have to completely disagree with you since they're going to be really good on the floor together. Why wouldn't two guys who have experience playing major minutes on winning teams defending 2-4, both of whom can shoot and are willing passers that get out on the break be bad on the floor together at the forward spots? On the other hand CJ, Melo and Kanter are a nightmare together because none play good/reliable defense and all think they need to score 90% of the time they get a touch.

I think they could be good together as well....but not as 'stand in the corner' options shooting standstill '3's. DJJ needs to be in motion and have his uber athleticism taken advantage of.

We agree to disagree. There's no proof that Jones Jr. is a starting caliber player. He just isn't at this point of his career. And him being in the starting lineup allows opposing teams to cheat on defense to help contain Dame.

He started a bulk of Miami's games last year. They had a pretty nice winning record with him starting.

There is no proof so far that teams can cheat on defense because of Jones shooting.
60% last night from deep and he was not bad in preseason either.

Having said that I would prefer to start Trent at SF against 80% of the teams.
That still gives us Hood and Kanter and Melo off the bench for offense. Give Melo a few more games and if no improvement then make a move to Giles.

I could not stomach watching the whole game last night but from what I saw in the first half Terry needs to stop with the help defense from our two forwards. Leaving their man wide open no longer works (if it ever did) Every team has stretch 4's that can shoot. We have 3 centers that can help out against quick guards. Use up their fouls first.
