Only 2 other players in Blazer history have hit 7 3-pointers off the bench. Tonight, Trent did it for the 3rd time.
Obviously Trent isnt going to score 28 points a night however I think when you have a player that CAN do that on any given night AND is willing to play defense then the plan needs to be for him to play well over 20 minutes a game. If he IS playing well then there is no reason those minutes can't come from a combo of Lillard and CJ. If he isn't playing well then Trent needs to understand that we can't afford to take those minutes from Dame and CJ unless we are blowing someone out. The only caveat to that is if he is having one of those games where he is dominating defensively. Unfortunately I think the current version of Melo makes that plan very difficult for Gary to get the shots he needs to see where he was at.
If CJ continues to pass the fucking ball like he did tonight, then I think Gary will continue to do well.
Absolutely agree. I've always felt that CJ could get a lot of assists if he wanted to but that's normally not his mentality.
No, it really didn't. We won both games. I doubt he or Trent care right now. You are overreacting on this. It was just one half. Stotts clearly likes him or he wouldn't have relied on him so much in the bubble.
Yes, he is great. I prefer to start him. But sitting him in one half in a game we won is not making Stots look bad. It's not like he sat him for 3-4 games.
I personally think Stotts has always made poor decisions with rotations. And honestly if Melo played tonight, I don’t think Trent would’ve played much
