When Melo comes back from the health/safety protocol, should he lose his spot in the rotation?

  1. Yes, he was horrible before and there are better players behind him.

    31.6%
  2. No, but give him one last chance. If he stinks it up, into the doghouse he goes.

You know, this is starting to resemble last years team. Lost embarrassingly at the home opener, plays suspect defense (actually, suspect defense would be an improvement), and in a lot of the games they lose, they look like a bunch of people who either don't care OR have no actual concept of playing basketball.

Last year they at least had the excuse of injuries (and lord did they milk that excuse). This years excuse is stupid, as they've now had almost a MONTH to get their shit together and still look like a team that has no idea what the literal and actual fuck it means to play basketball.

I have not read this thread so i really don't know if this has been said. The Blazers can play better than that. They can beat that team. I really don't see how the Clippers could ever have that kind of shooting night on a consistent basis and i know for a fact you will not see the Blazers miss that many wide open looks from 3.

This was the last Blazer game of the calendar year, so it was NOT a fun way to close out 2020. But I guess it fits the shit theme of 2020.

Basketball, especially the NBA, is a star driven league. Injuries matter when it’s your top players. Like the Clippers didn’t have Kawhi against the Mavs and the Spurs didn’t have Aldridge tonight. I believe Stotts didn’t have injuries to any of his star players tonight.

Big problem he dedicated to Kanter and Kanter is doing good job and he is dedicated to Melo and decent offense game tonight but or his defense he lacking in that department. So Giles is the man looking in. But I really think there minutes there for him until Nurk gets in shape by come in at the 5 minute mark in the 1st and 3rd. That's my opinion.

I'd say we had some premature swagger going into this game after beating the Lakers and it came back to bite us in the ass...lazy passes...shots coming up short....playing a team that had just been embarrassed by 50 on their court....recipe for disappointments

I didn't say he was shot, for heaven's sake. I said his shot doesn't look as good as it has in recent seasons.

    For Pete's sake, calm down.

They obviously could have used a great shooting night from Gary Trent again.

Unfortunately Stubborn Stotts has already made up his mind in regards to Giles. After Giles’ impressive preseason, Stotts was asked about Giles’ role in the rotation. He pretty much laughed it off and said that Giles would only play if something drastic happened.

One good win and we start getting cocky. They haven’t proven anything yet, they need to be hungry 100% of the time.

This is probably as honest of a take as you can get. Kanter is not playing poorly and melo did play fairly well. Giles needs some run and now that Collins is out for the season pretty much Stotts better start getting the guy in the game.

GTJ is inching closer to being the clearcut third best player.

I get the vibe of those teams that are going "all-in" for a championship, but then you see that there are problems, I mean, glaring issues that are going to be really hard to overcome. Sometimes, it's that the stars you brought in all were a little past their prime, or the chemistry just doesn't work, or you acquired all this offense but you can't stop anyone. The players realize it, though, and slowly you see the effort slipping.

The difference here was Olshey's idea of going all-in was bringing in a couple of defensive specialists and a promising young big our coach refuses to play. But the tension you sense from this team when they get down is the same; it's like they gave it their best shot and they know it doesn't work.

Something "Drastic" did happen in my opinion. Zach just went down for the season again.

Yes but Trent hit 26 too makes a big difference for the bench and he plays better defense. But if our guards don't go off then we usually don't have a shot. But I blame this guard type of offense and it really don't get others players involved. Our starting front line had 14 shots together. Our guards had 31 shots. So basically there no balance in the offense. Defense another story though.
