They only want his brand for their voting block. Really! Who wants Trump for four more years? At least 140 traitors to the Constitution and the traditions of our Elected Democracy. I have no empathy for them and I hope they get their karma one day.

When you observe the great character and humble nature of President Obama and then hear Trump speak, it's like torture.

Barrack is CLASS and TRUMP is TRASH.

In 48 years of voting I have never, ever, never been a party line voter. I have always voted my conscience, supporting candidates I believed were most qualified, regardless of party affiliation. And this past election was no different. And while I tend to lean more left than right, I’ve always been a sucker for a moderate who knows how to effectively navigate the center. All that said, the trulyunhinged (and genuinely treasonable) actions of today’s Republican Party will never make America “great again” (assuming we actually ever truly were) unless and until they purge themselves of the traitors, demagogues and narcissists that are currently hell bent on taking this country into an autocracy at best and a fascist dictatorship at worst. These mouth breathing Neanderthals don’t even know what America means.

I realize that my vote doesn’t make much difference (and if the Republicans have their say my vote won’t make ANY difference) but the Republican shenanigans of 2020 have absolutely guaranteed that I will never, ever, never vote for another Republican for any position at any level again in this lifetime, even if it’s for dog catcher. The Republican Party should be outlawed forever after their treasonous actions. I was more than a little ashamed of the meltdown by the Left after the 2016 election but they look like absolute rank amateurs compared to the Right wing idiots of 2020. The former should retreat to their safe spaces while the latter should be deported to whatever shithole country promises to make their lives the most miserable. They don’t deserve anyone’s version of America. Oh, to have actual functioning adults in our government, rather than spoiled, selfish children........fuck the Republicans all to hell and beyond. A class load of 5 year olds has more grace, maturity and intelligence (my apologies if I have insulted 5 year olds.....)

Exactly! Amazing how much of this is fueled by Confederate nostagia.....Republican party has damaged the country over the last 4 years, possibly irreparably. Most divisive administration in American history and the lack of accountability concerning honesty is appalling and very Putinesque if you ask me. Love and loyalty require unconditional trust and our govt has thrown that in the rubbish bin

In 2016 Clinton supporters were shocked over election results, bitter about Comey going outside procedure for what turned out to be nothing, press coverage that clearly favored Trump, etc. A few people hatched some hairbrained schemes to stop electoral college certification but they remained fringe and certainly no one called for violence. Instead women worldwide held the largest and entirely peaceful protest in history.

Clinton and President Obama attended the inauguration. Obama offered full cooperation during transition, although Trump largely refused because he knows more than anyone else.

I am a registered independent but I can't "both sides".

Only one side is promoting treason and insurrection.

I think both of your points are valid. My concern/questions come from the US military and the Democrats.

The rules of Congress' Jan. 6 session governing the counting of Electoral College votes will remain identical to those used for decades, under a resolution adopted Sunday by the House and Senate.

The rules, first obtained by POLITICO, were passed on voice votes in both chambers, in keeping with recent history in which they've been uncontroversial afterthoughts in the process of finalizing the results of presidential elections.

As dozens of Republicans in the House and Senate threaten to challenge President-elect Joe Biden's victory — citing baseless claims of widespread fraud and irregularities — the rules have taken on new prominence, but none of those Republicans sought to block the adoption of the rules, even though some had supported an effort to block them in court.

The rules were introduced amid the first indications of GOP pushback to the election challenges inside the House, where dozens of Republicans are embracing President Donald Trump's push to object to the election's certification.

A group of seven House Republicans — including Freedom Caucus members such as Ken Buck (Colo.) and Chip Roy (Texas) as well as Rep.-elect Nancy Mace (S.C.) and libertarian Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) — put out a rare and lengthy statement Sunday afternoon opposing the effort to challenge the election. The statement was also signed by Reps. Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.), Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) and Tom McClintock (R-Calif.).~ Reasonable Republicans who realize Trump is nuts.

To quote Jerry Seinfeld, "Who are these people??"

My Trumpian friend is convinced the election was stolen and there is nothing wrong with this attempted coup. That not one single lawsuit has been proven meritorious is irrelevant.

I am almost at the point (might already be there) where I just cannot be friends with you if you still support trump. At the beginning, i was fine - it was just a difference of opinion. This has turned to more than just political opinions though. If you support Trump, you support everything about him - you dont get to pick and choose. If you support his tax policies because they help you, but turn a blind eye to how he treats people, ignores laws, bullies politicians, gives money to his friends, pardons criminals, benefits from racists support, then you are a selfish prick. And I dont want selfish pricks as friends. It sucks, because I have a couple family members who are still with Trump, and I dont even want to talk or see them, but I cant wrap my head around supporting such an awful, pathetic, egotistical pile of shit.

What Republicans are doing is a dress rehearsal for some time in future when they control both houses of Congress and a Democrat is elected president. They can either then block electoral college or send results back to heavily gerrymandered state legislatures or congressional delegations.

    This isn't a joke.

I get it. This guy is not a close friend, be wants to text about politics with me, so I am trying to be the change I want to see and have a rational debate with him. Showing him we on the left are reasonable, patriotic in our way, intelligent, etc.

But truly, it is difficult. We keep it light to the extent we can, but I find that he is really a low information voter, relying on Newsmax and the president for his facts. :(
